Honey-orange beef

Ingredients

Beef (preferably veal) 600 gr.
Orange zest (I substituted lime zest) 1 PC.
Orange juice 1 glass
honey 2 tbsp. l
onion (medium) 1 PC.
Butter + vegetable
water a third of a glass
Salt pepper taste.

Cooking method

  • Process the pieces of beef, cut off all the fat. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Finely chop the onion.
  • Heat vegetable oil with a piece of butter in a saucepan. Lightly fry the meat.
  • Add onion to the meat and mix. Let stand on fire for 5 minutes.
  • Cut or grate the rind from the orange. Add to meat. I replaced it with lime zest. It seems to me that the recipe only benefited from this.
  • Pour orange juice over the meat and add honey. Add three quarters of a glass of water, or until the meat is almost covered. Cover and leave over medium heat for 25 minutes.
  • After a while, open the lid and let the sauce caramelize (maximum 5 minutes).
  • * The main thing in any recipe with beef is not to let the meat dry out. "
