Ingredients

Beef broth 1-1.2 liters
Sauerkraut 300gr.
Potatoes 3 pcs.
Millet 2 tbsp. l.
Carrot 1 PC.
A tomato 1 PC.
Bulb onions 1 PC.
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp. l.
Bay leaf 1 PC.
Fresh and dry greens
Green onions
Salt taste

Cooking method

  • Preparatory stage:
  • 1. Peel and chop the onion.
  • 2. Peel and three carrots on a coarse grater.
  • 3. Remove the skin from the tomato, for which we dip it in boiling water for half a minute and then pour it over with cold water. We cut it finely.
  • 4. Clean and cut potatoes into cubes.
  • Thoroughly rinse the millet with cold water, then fill it with hot (boiling water) and let stand for 30-60 minutes. This is done so that the millet does not taste bitter.
  • 5. Prepare the broth. I already had a ready-made broth from boiled beef according to this recipe Boiled beef
  • (This beef can be cut into strips and added to the soup.)

  • Cooking cabbage:
  • 1. Pour vegetable oil into a bowl. Set the FRY mode 1 - Vegetables 15 minutes. Put onions and carrots in a bowl, fry for 7 minutes.
  • 2. Add the tomato and fry for another 3 minutes.
  • 3. Put sauerkraut in a bowl and fry it together with the rest of the vegetables until the end of the mode.
  • 4. About 2 minutes before the end of Fry 1 mode, you can add dry herbs to taste and heat them for aroma.
  • 5. Add potatoes, millet to the vegetables (drain the water).
  • 6. Fill everything with broth (I got it up to the max mark).

  • We cook Zaporizhzhya cabbage on the SOUP mode for 1 hour.
  • 15 minutes before readiness, add bay leaf and chopped green onions (feathers) and fresh herbs to our soup.

  • After the signal of readiness, let the cabbage brew for 15-20 minutes and serve with sour cream.

And millet, my love, so that it is not "pricked" in soups, so I soak as much as necessary, but it is better longer.
