Girls, I have another question for you, of course yesterday I studied Temko about Blender, BUT I didn't understand ... what is the difference between Philips HR 1372 and Braun MR 6550 ??
Perhaps you have this or that model? or did you also face the same choice?
Please share your experience ... or opinions.
Thank you in advance!
I have a double wait, a combine and a blender ...
Miracle777
If still relevant ...
I myself chose between these two units, read Temka on the IHWT forum, from there I realized that the brown does not have a protective mechanism against overheating (it overheated and the motor died, cannot be restored), and the Phillips itself is cut off when the motor starts to overheat. Therefore, I lean more towards Phillips, only not to 1372, but to 1371 (it does not have a whisk, I have a mixer and I don’t have a small chopping bowl), it is cheaper
Philips also has a stainless steel look.
From the disadvantages of Phillips, I read that the nozzle literally "on snot", on thin plastic spikes.
For the time being, I still think I will never mature.

Braun MR 6550 is a really good blender, smart and helper.
His engine is on from the "turbo" button. It's useful, but you need to use it less often... Miracle777 is right, in which case, you need to buy a new motor.
In principle, the usual modes are excellent.

p. from.
A new handle with a motor, if anyone is interested, in the service costs about 360 UAH.

wales, and what is turbo used for? not for meat? I also want to use the minced meat chopper, did you manage?

"Turbo" is used - in a large bowl
for meat - 30 seconds; chop 400 g of meat (pre-cut into small cubes)
for cheese - 20-30 sec. for 200 g, also chopped
for greens - 15 sec, 30 g
for making fruit cocktails and ice picks
for crushing nuts

For a small bowl, slightly different proportions ...

I tried to chop meat on this blender, but, frankly, it’s like a lifesaver if you don’t have ready-made minced meat at hand. For example, an electric meat grinder will not do it ...
LenaV07
And I also encountered in Brown 6550 the fact that the latch on the bowl lid does not hold during operation. Inconvenient ...

wales, thanks for the valuable information about meat, nowhere else could I find out in such detail. We don't use minced meat often, I don't want to buy a meat grinder, that's why I plan to use a large bowl.
And do not tell me how much a small bowl is in demand, if there is a large one, is it really so small? I think it's worth saving or not ...
A small one is needed to chop 1 onion or garlic or nuts, a small bunch of greens. In general, what is not hunting with a knife, but in a large bowl will smear on the walls.
Mallet
I have a Phillips 1372. I can say that all the equipment is in demand: both a small / large bowl, and a whisk, that's all. I have been using it almost every day for over a year - no complaints about my work. There were a couple of times when it overheated, in which case it turned off and, when it cooled down, it worked again. Take model 1372, I think you will not regret it.
wales
how much a small bowl is in demand
How in demand! On the other hand, I rarely use a large bowl. For example, chop the same nuts for baking or add powdered sugar ... you don't need a lot of them.

And the overheating shutdown function is a valuable piece ...

Lika, KIYANKA, walesthanks girls!
I read about a small bowl in time, now I’m definitely ripe for Phillips 1372, I would rather March 8

KIYANKA , but what about the flimsy joints, read that they are plastic and often come off?
Mallet
Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the durability of plastic connections in Phillips, but for 1.5 years of almost daily use, nothing happened to them, and in appearance I would not say that they are flimsy. Brown did not hold in her hands, although I wonder what kind of connections there are, it will be good if you have the opportunity to twist both models in your hands.
NatalyaN
I don’t know how anyone has it, but I’m now actively using the Turbo button in Brown (they flew a Soviet whisk on a mixer), and not for 30 seconds - I bake biscuits and whites for two days, beat them for a long time, and then of course I let him rest, but for now the motor has not burned out!
And I bought an extra small bowl for myself in the service, I also use it actively.
Mallet
All the same, it is better to take a Phillips even for the reason that there is protection against overheating. Otherwise, you will have to be on the lookout all the time, especially when you need to work with him for a long time so as not to burn out
NatalyaN
It's up to you to decide, but if you take into account how long the whites are whipped - and the engine did not sit down, then my Honor and praise Brown!
Miracle777
and I also remembered the difference! in some model of brown series 6550 (it seems a professional) there is a nozzle for a shredder. I liked it very much, but then I decided to replace the shredder with Berner graters, I already ordered it for my mother in Germany.
wales
There is such a nozzle in the Braun MR 6550 M FP model.
You can optionally buy it separately in the service.
As for the flimsy holders - hardly ... Brown didn't start making kitchen appliances yesterday ...
It seems to me that when buying, it is necessary to check whether the connection is fixed well in this particular kit... Both Phillips and Brown
Miracle777
wales , with this, of course, brown impresses me that nozzles can be bought. you can also buy vacuum containers for the 6550 series.

but still I will take Phillips, I am reinsured
Ernimel
I have been using brown 6550 for almost a year and a half. I took it with a large and small bowl + a whisk, with an iron "leg". A small bowl is constantly in use (sauces, salad dressings, small omelettes for children / myself), I used a large one 2-3 times in total - for large batches of milkshakes. I used an ice pick once - I was too lazy to defrost spinach into an omelet and chopped it straight. And I also bought vacuum ones with a nozzle - a handy thing, sometimes pickling, I often store something in the refrigerator. As a result, if I took it now, I would take a purely leg with a whisk, and then a small bowl and a vacuumizer to it. Regarding the shredder - I have a suspicion that it is exactly the same there as it was on my ancient Brown combine, there was a VERY thin gap, the cucumbers for the salad were just transparent. And the hodgepodge is also nanotechnological. Although the grater was quite nothing ...

Brown does not have a protective mechanism against overheating (overheated and the motor died, cannot be restored)
Not certainly in that way. during my year and a half of active use, on average, 3 times a week (while the child was small, generally several times a day regularly) Only recently a problem arose - the transmission sleeve on the handle died. The service was changed without question, however, somehow strange - after a month they again suffered with the same problem. As a result, the entire "handle" was replaced for us (under the warranty, ie, free of charge). In short, as they explained to us, it is precisely so that the motor does not get out, this very sleeve dies there with excessive tension. And their service is more than adequate.

I can't say anything about the Phillips about service-reliability, but for me the decisive thing when choosing then was that Brown (as it seemed to me) had knives on his "leg" a little lower, and they could end up in a cup without problems a small portion of vegetable puree, for example. And so - the plastic of brown is very good, tenacious, all the latches-connections still click properly, all the knives cut, and all of them together normally tolerate washing in the dishwasher.

I have a Brown 6550 blender for a little over a year. The power button (top) broke very quickly. The first time it turned on every other time, and then completely died. Works only in Turbo mode.It was just too lazy to go to the service.

strange ... I have had a Philips HR 1371 for two years now and I did not notice that the attachment was holding poorly. to mine everything is pretty strong there.
Probably really, you just need to check it well before buying. maybe some kind of marriage happens like this ..
and I'm very happy with the blender. True, when I just bought it, I overheated and switched off - I thought everything .. I got upset .. but I lay down - and earned, how cute and I used it quite often during these two years. Now I really bought a harvester, so I'm still testing it))) and the blender is idle at this time. but nothing, and he will come in handy on the farm. for smaller portions.
I also used brown. at a girlfriend. the truth about the model will not tell. but I liked it too. In the brown there was just a smaller bowl. I also wanted everything for myself. because it is much more convenient to do something in small quantities. chop the same greens or garlic. although my Phillips copes with this cup with a bang
celfh
Oh, how I wanted a blender. The word itself was mesmerizing. But my old mixer didn't give up until I slipped him a lemon peel. Stress at the point of contact between the leg and the mixer melted the plastic. There is no contact, the leg does not work. Oh, I can finally buy a bladder! And I bought it - Philips HR 1372 Immersion Blender.
And what? Yes, he does not stand next to and does not lie with my old German mixer. Neither power nor performance. First: it is annoying that you have to constantly hold the button with your finger. Second: I still can't figure out how the turbo mode differs from the usual one. Third: I do not know what power my mixer has, but it is clearly more than that of a blender, in any case, liver pate from 1 kg of liver + 300 grams of podvashka + onions my mixer turned into a completely delicate substance in 3 minutes, and the blender just got stuck in this mass. Fourth, holding a blender is just hard. Here is such a disappointment.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe this blender has some hidden reserves, but now I'm thinking about how I can fix my old mixer.

It also makes me VERY annoying, even though I have it brown
Lika
celfh, a hand blender will not replace a mixer. And this amount of meat for a pate is a lot for him. It is needed for quickly chopping or whipping a small amount of food. When you need to chop a handful of nuts or puree the soup in a saucepan.

No modern mixer / blender can replace a German old mixer at all, it has a very large number of revolutions at low power, hence the speed of whipping and chopping. The speed does not depend on the power, I was so led to the Boshevsky mixer and its 450 W, now it is in exile at the dacha.
And at home I combine a Brown blender and a Bosch cube combine
celfh
Lika, yes, I now feel sorry for the "leg" of the mixer to tears and it is impossible to fix it ... how to make pates now - I don't know ...
Lika
Buy a combine or a hand blender with a bowl (you can only buy a thicket to it) or a stationary blender.

Brown on a tube of squirrels to persistent peaks in two minutes! I don't have a mixer. My blender is 3 years old, no complaints, t-t-t, I'm very happy with it.
NatalyaN
Rattle, it depends on how many proteins you beat at a time ...
I'm also happy with my t-t-t, the only thing that would return everything back, would not take vacuum containers to them, as I do not use them. The Wax system is more in demand for me, but it is for me, maybe for someone else.
Pogremushka
6 proteins per biscuit

But I'm okay. For dinner, marinate something in sauce, or divide the minced meat or meat for a few days - part in the course, part in vacuum. Of course, not a week, but the next day, for example, it turns out like fresh. And by the way, according to my observations, minced meat comes out of a vacuum more tenderly than just just mixed. I made quick cucumbers several times - like lightly salted ones. I want to try all the cabbage, but my hands do not reach. Also, in theory, it should be quickly marinated.

Girls, my question is:
A friend had a submersible blender (no matter which one), at the bottom, at the foot there were curly slots, retired by age. And she bought herself a new one (no matter which one), and it has no curly slots at the bottom. And she says that the havchik gets stuck in the bowels of the leg and does not grind, but in the old one, through those same figs. the slots circulated and everything was buzzing.
I read everything and have thoughts: it is necessary fig. slots, it is necessary that the knife is located lower, and not somewhere deep there, it is necessary that the bottom is wider and not very deep.

I have Brown with combine function for several years. I'm very happy with it. And whips well, and shreds, and very handy, a small bowl-mill included. In the service I bought a bowl for him for chopping ice and for cocktails. In total, I now have 3 bowls for the blender + a glass with a lid in which I store the attachments. The only drawback (this is probably the case for all blenders) the start button is not fixed, it must be kept constantly. Brown is my constant assistant in the kitchen, and I use the food processor only for large volumes, for example, for canning.

How much, if not a secret, did the additionally purchased "bells and whistles" cost you? This is an important indicator for me that you can buy additional "bells and whistles" later without unnecessary smut

I don't remember the price. Go to the Vneshremtorg website, they have an online store with prices.
I have a blender with a Braun combine function (I don't remember the brand number, but type MR 550) - very convenient for everyday use Blender selection: Philips HR 1372 and Braun MR 6550

I had several hand blenders on the farm. I fully agree that the knife should be placed lower. This is important for small volumes.
But the presence of slots is not important for me. I don't feel the difference. It all depends on the power of the engine.

Can you please tell me what is the volume of the large chopper bowl in PHILIPS HR1372 / 90?
