Homemade Cinnamon Twists and Cheese Straws - cheese straws

Ingredients

puff pastry (roll) 1 kg
sugar 1/2 st
ground cinnamon 1 tbsp. l.
ground cloves 1/8 tsp
salt 1/4 tsp
butter 2 tbsp. l
flour for sprinkling 2 tbsp. l
Second filling (for Cheese Straws):
Parmesan cheese + Gruyere 70 g
puff pastry 1 layer 21x21
thyme, pepper salt taste
butter (or 1 egg) 1 tbsp. l

Cooking method

  • Again, I could not pass by such a quick recipe. As soon as I baked Twists, on the same website I saw similar things called Cheese Straws - as you already understood, they are cheese. Of course, I could not resist and prepared another option (or rather, they are being prepared now).
  • Cinnamon Twists first.
  • 1. Roll out a sheet of puff pastry on a floured table (board) to a size of 25x35 cm. Dough from different manufacturers has different sizes. Focus on the size of the baking sheet and the amount of baking you need.
  • I had 1 roll of dough, 1 kg and used 3/4 roll.
  • 2. On a sheet of dough, spread the butter with a brush and top with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
  • Using a rolling pin, gently press the filling into the dough.

  • 3. Cut the dough into strips using a knife or pizza wheels. You will get from 20 to 23 pieces, size: width 1-1.5 cm, length up to 25 cm, thickness 0.5 cm. 4.

  • 4. Twist each strip in a spiral and place on a baking sheet lined with paper - these will be our Twists.

  • 5. Bake for about 10 minutes at t 190 * C or until your Twists are browned. It took me 15 minutes.

  • And here is the time that Cheese Straws arrived in time - cheese straws.
  • Cook them in the same way as cinnamon ones. You can use an egg to grease the dough in place of butter.
