Porridge from whole oats in a multicooker Panasonic SR-TMH18

Ingredients

Oats 1 measuring cup
135 g
Milk 3 cups
500 ml
Salt 3/4 tsp
Butter 2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

I took a one and a half portion, a little less salt, added 2 tbsp. l. fructose.
At the end of the automatic mode, it turned out that the porridge was absolutely liquid, and the cereal was undercooked.
I transferred it to the stewing mode for 1 hour - the milk was almost absorbed and became caramel color, that is, melted - and then "forgot" it on heating until morning.

Note

I bought a pack of whole oatmeal for experiments with bread (PASSIM, premium).
And I thought - why not try to make porridge out of it in a cartoon.

The instruction contains a plate with proportions for cooking porridge from different types of cereals in the "MILK PORSE" mode.
I also used it.

In the morning, the result exceeded all expectations!
The taste and especially the aroma cannot be compared with oatmeal.
It looks like risotto - each grain is "read", but the whole mass has a creamy consistency and a pronounced caramel-oatmeal taste.

Today I did it at the request of my family for an encore. Butter this time put 1 tsp, milk 0% fat. The result is not worse!
Now I will cook it instead of oatmeal, especially since it is very convenient to put it at night.
I think it is possible for an hour and a half to immediately go into extinguishing mode with an automatic switch to heating.

Alexandra, so whole oatmeal is the most useful and healthy porridge, and from cereals ...
Alexandra
Leska,

I am a diabetic, so if I myself eat rolled oats, only long-boiled, I do not cook, but soak in water and then heat it up a little in the microwave.
So I totally agree.
Lydia
And where is this most whole oatmeal sold? I want to try too!
Mams
Lydia, look in the departments selling flour and other grains. The packaging will say "oatmeal". Not cereals, not porridge, but grains.

There is a very convenient type of such cereal. It is crimped. These are not flakes! So it is written, "Rolled oats". From it, porridge is perfectly obtained from one cycle - no need to cook. A bunch of delicious slime comes out. Numb. Real porridge on hercules is generally my favorite since childhood.
True production Peter. Some girls from Moscow tried to find her, but to no avail. Maybe it has already appeared?
And we have it now gone. I cry with burning tears I hope that the crisis will pass and she will reappear. My husband laughs, says the horses ate everything

Lydia, I understood that you are from Dubna.
At the beginning of the week I bought such oatmeal in the Zodiac store in the building of Sberbank (Mira Square). Produced in Petrozavodsk. A very good quality.

And I only cook porridge with such rolled oats, and dairy and with fruits.
It is sold in a store in small bags of 0.5 kg, it is not a quick-cooking oatmeal steamed.
I buy constantly. And add another 4-5-6 cereal flakes to it. Milk porridge mode.
See my porridge recipes if you wish.

Whole has a very different taste.
I cook hercules for the family, but whole is more useful to me.
Although now the whole family orders

Mams, that's her. In the same package, they also have oat and rye flakes without cooking. Convenient (as an ambulance) at work. Better than Bystrov

Suzy, thanks! Today or tomorrow in the morning I will visit there. And, by the way, if before going to bed, put it to boil, and then leave it on heating until morning? (I want to spread this in advance so that there is no puncture!) It's just that we usually eat porridge in the morning ...

Lydia, I haven't cooked this cereal in a slow cooker, but I'm going to try it. I, nevertheless, would not dare to leave it for the first time overnight, and even more so with milk. It is recommended to soak clean oatmeal for two hours before cooking and then boil it in the same water. This will speed up the process. In general, you need to experiment. Good luck !!!

Why not take a chance? Then I posted the post that I had already taken a chance 2 times and everything worked out great. So I wanted to share with you. So read from the beginning of the post

You can go to bed perfectly by turning on the Milk Porridge or Stewing for 1 hour, it will automatically switch to heating. When using the stewing mode, there will be the effect of cooking in baked milk.

Just keep the ratio of milk to cereal at least three to one.
Why such tricks as soaking, the cartoon will do everything for you

Well, in fact, I also can't porridge with milk at the intensive stage of weight loss. And now she is supportive, so she brewed milk with 0% milk. So I'll go to the next run of the intensive, then I'll try your recipe.
In the cartoon, everything is easier. You put everything in the bowl, both water and cereals - and the automatic mode of milk / porridge plus heating for the night. Or just 2 hours extinguishing with switching to heating.

For example, I stopped cooking buckwheat altogether, I just boil it with boiling water 1: 2 and stand under the lid - and the normal, not quickly digestible cereal becomes a delicious crumbly porridge. A little sea salt, and a teaspoon of almond oil (I don't eat animal fats) - and the unloved porridge turns into delicious food

I bought it! Oatmeal! It turns out that everything is so simple ... (in the sense of buying). I think that at 3: 1 (liquid-water ratio) there will be a thick porridge. I will bet at least 4: 1, and on milk, since my family will not eat on water. Actually, I always put milk porridge at night, and on the timer, and so far there has been only 1 puncture - the milk sour, since it was not cold enough. And no one heard about the flattened oats in that store.
Alexandra
There is nothing to think about, 1: 3 properly steamed it turns out to be a really thick porridge. As in the photo that I posted on page 1 of this post.

In the instructions for the multi, the proportion for liquid oatmeal is 100 g of cereal (3/4 measuring cup from multi) to 500 ml (3 measuring cups) of milk

So there are flakes everywhere, and I'm talking about whole, just rolled rolled oats. It seemed to be flattened with something - it's not even flakes nearby, but the same whole rolled hercules. Where can I get one?

I will join foxtrader.
Where can I buy??
The flakes are just NOT interested.
Alexandra
I bought it in a regular store, across the street from the house. Firms Passim. There were many different cereals from this company, and oatmeal too. Pearl barley, wheat, corn (polenta), semolina, peas ...
Alexandra
Finally, I did what I actually bought whole oatmeal for. Oat bread using the method that does not require kneading, with kefir sourdough.

It turned out fragrant with a crispy crust and a rather dense spongy crumb, a bit like a whole grain ciabatta, but the holes are small and the taste is distinctly oatmeal

Self-taught baker, I'm afraid my information won't help you much. I bought whole oatmeal in Dubna, where I live. If I can help you with something (well, buy-send) - let me know why not, But we haven't heard of flattened oats yet. I also cooked porridge (put it overnight). We (I mean my family) have not yet understood whether we like it or not. Perhaps you need to keep it heated for more time. And then I first set the mode "milk porridge", and even on the timer - readiness at 3:00 am, and then to warm up until morning. And I shouldn't have set the timer at all, in my opinion. I will try again.
Svetlana_12
What flattened oats are there? You won't even find simple oatmeal here. With great difficulty, going around all the shops in one, I found oatmeal. I put milk oatmeal in the multo to cook. She was driven through the valve. All that was left in the cartoon was still delicious.

Alexandra, today I put porridge according to your recipe, tomorrow we will try! Thanks: flowers:
