I have a steam generator for the second year. And in the atelier Silters serve all day long without shutdown for 6-8 years. Now I looked at Welltex, it is my model that is not available now.
* Tanya *
Well, I don't care for now to think and choose the time to eat, maybe it will appear later. While leaning towards this model too
* Tanya *
I also like this very much Termozeta Matica 1260 Inox, Italian, although constant steam supply, I don’t know if it’s good or bad, the characteristics are good, but no one has written any reviews yet. Or is it better not to look at this company at all?
Galin
The market for steam irons is huge, it was very difficult to make the right choice. I liked everything (based on the information that they write about them and on the fact that I, as a user of this technique, is a complete "O"). I also had to overcome the resistance of my son, who decided to give me a vertical steamer, and I suddenly wanted something completely different. I especially liked the Lelit brand, but if a large family is the best option. I decided to opt for the Silter Super mini Gazzella 2020 / PD, I am satisfied with the price, compactness, functions and the fact that there are positive reviews. Well, and the rest of the impressions when I get the iron (I haven't arrived yet). Today I have a big wash, so I will have the opportunity to try it out.
To everyone who participated in the topic, thank you very much , without you I would not have been able to make a choice, so I would have continued to look at these irons and ponder what to choose.
Creamy
We wish you good luck and a nice ironing!
* Tanya *
Galina, I agree that this is the right choice! I also lean towards this model. As soon as you get it and try it out, immediately unsubscribe, I believe that there will be more more positive feedback.
* Tanya *
I finally figured out how irons with a steam generator like Philips, Tefal differ from models like Silter, Lelit. It turns out that our famous brands, which so flood our stores at the outlet with wet steam, although it is written that the pressure is 5-6 bar, and industrial dry steam. And the holes must necessarily be not all over the sole, but only in the part of the nose, therefore the steam comes out drier, it is ironed better and there is no such humidity at home after an hour of vaping. Well, and then naturally a good iron should always be iron and a little heavy, and not plastic, because Tefali and Philips often break and their ceramic soles break off. And you will use industrial for many years both in the mane and in the tail... Well, this is if you retell everything in your own words from what you read, otherwise you are too lazy to look for where it was. Therefore, as much as I would not like to buy some pretty-looking plastic, I will look towards reliable ones.

And if we do not have a filter with o6rate osmosis, where is the water for the steam generator? Buy?
Creamy
Do you seriously think that ateliers buy distilled water for steam generators? Do you know how much you need to buy for a month?
* Tanya *
As far as I understand, you can pour ordinary tap water into Silter ..?
Creamy
I fill in ordinary drinking water after Aquaphor, and I cook food on it. I live in Veliky Novgorod, we have very soft water, the salt is set to one in the dishwasher. A load of salt in the dishwasher lasts more than a year and a half.

I have no idea what kind of water they use, so I ask.Because even from a couple of evaporated liters on the heater, a decent crust of scale is easily formed and even boiling does not eliminate calcium, it only binds slightly.

I had an ordinary iron on boiled water for no more than a year, although I rarely used a steamer in it. Now I have another one and I pour only condensation into it.
Creamy
Where do you get the condensate?
Bijou
Creamy, and we have a dehumidifier, I always keep in stock a bucket of clean water that we can use when we are not using it.))
As a result, the new iron lives quite happily. But the thermopot, into which we pour pre-boiled o6ychnuyu water, is covered with scale quite quickly, even the pump barely pushes the water in a thin stream. Boil with lemon.

Until the dehumidifier disappeared (and we do not have an air conditioner), I poured water into the iron, which I passed through a new pitcher filter several times in a row and defended it in a tank so that the coal settled, because all the same, the first water from the filter needs to be poured out. And the scale in the iron 6yl.

Therefore, I am wary of pri6or, where a lot of water evaporates, both for steam generators and washing machines with steam.)) So I am interested in how people get along with this.

As for the water, a friend's husband worked for several years in Japan, naturally all the equipment was brought from there. I witnessed how my friend unpacked a Japanese iron, poured boiled water into it, and he immediately began to spit out this water. We were shocked, she had to turn it off and stroke it with an old one, either Moulinex, or Bosch, from somewhere in a European country. From which we concluded how high the level of ecology is in Japan and what high requirements are in the manufacture of household appliances. She had to specially purchase water for baby food for this iron, and stopped spitting with this water. And it was this year in 96-98 and he then brought her different multicooker, only we with her mind got to what it was like to cook cereals (mainly rice) and vegetables (well, this is lyrics, not to the point).
And I tell all this to the fact that in Moscow water is of high hardness and although it is written that you can pour tap water into the iron, I will not do this, it is better to keep the device.

And while I am ripe for Silter Super mini Gazzella 2020 / PD, it is no longer on sale at Welltex

* Tanya *, are you sure that dry steam smoothes better? In my opinion, this is true only for lightweight fabrics, and not for cotton ...
* Tanya *
I still cannot say this, since I do not have a unit with either dry steam or wet steam. You should ask the owners of the Silters, judging by the reviews, they iron all the fabrics.
Alenka212
I can't say anything about such a model, but there was experience in using the 2in1 Kromakh steam cleaner-steamer, a steam brush and a phillips steam station in different modes. It is good to steam light fabrics with dry steam, and you cannot do without dense or cotton without moisture. With a steam station, for the first time, the bed linen (and it always dries out for me) was ironed on a 3-ke, so the steam was dry. It smoothed out worse than 1-ke on IVF or double steam. There was no steam room. Usually you have to iron one set of bed linen, several towels and all sorts of T-shirts and sweatshirts at a time.
I had to buy a steam station, since I am a supporter of cotton, etc. fabrics, but not wrinkled, but ironed. And girls who use steam brushes (dry steam) mostly have synthetic things in everyday life. To each his own.

Today, on the Internet, I found such an informative review of one girl who was lucky enough to try the Tefal and Silter steam generator. If you can quote reviews here, then I will share, maybe someone will come in handy.
"For the last new year, a tefal 8461 steam generator (the most sophisticated at that time) was presented. Before that there was an old iron, also tefal, 1.5 kW, no bells and whistles, the most unpretentious. So, as an iron, I didn't notice much difference, well, a bit it is better to just fill with water less often.For some reason, cotton was not given at all, neither chintz, nor coarse calico, nor even the usual husband's T-shirts, it seemed to level out, but traces of tarnishes after washing still remained visible, although I spin at 400 rpm. and shake before hanging. And it was expected that it would be "like from a store";) I even asked for advice here ...
In general, the thought did not leave me to try how a professional steam generator ironed. (but she was silent in a rag, she would be kicked out of the house;) And suddenly Silter 2020PD was presented to my DR as a surprise a couple of days ago ... So - THERE IS A DIFFERENCE, and what a difference! Today I managed to experiment, I specially ironed the same things. The jams are not visible! Barely - on overdried Belarusian coarse calico. And in reality, the second layer is also smoothed out at the same time (I have not tried it anymore), while I only managed to do this with a pair of my husband's shirts (but there such a fabric is grateful, it turns out great with any iron). I also tried to steam vertically the same dress made of viscose knitwear, which I tried with tefal (and nothing happened, as it was, it remained so) - it also worked! Steam is constant, by the way (see the post above).
Maybe, of course, I have hook hands, while others do it with teffles. But for me the difference is obvious.
I am not campaigning for Silter. I mean the difference between household and professional. If anyone hesitates - definitely a professional! By the way, they also consume less electricity (usually 1000 + 800 on average), and are cheaper than fancy household ones by the way (!).
I apologize for the emotions, I just want to help those who are at the crossroads, so that they do not make my mistakes ... "
Dr.NO
I'm of course sorry, but silter 2020 is a household model. At least that's how they position it. Probably, we still need to explain how domestic steam generators differ from industrial ones. The first is the time of continuous operation, in households it rarely exceeds 1.5-2 hours, primarily due to plastic cases and the lack of good thermal insulation of the boiler, in industrial 5-9 hours. For those who iron a lot, this is a plus. But industrial ones, due to the fact that they must be constantly turned on, be at hand, and, moreover, have, as a rule, a larger volume of the boiler (not water tanks), have a long heating time. And the power is given to them "not hasty". For those who are in a hurry to work in the morning, this is a minus. Industrial ones, as a rule, have removable hoses on the connectors; this is an unspoken requirement for industrial equipment for quick replacement / change. But the spacers on these connectors don't last forever. You can change the hose on the household one only in the service (if it is there), but for that there are fewer connectors. Industrial ones usually have a stainless steel boiler. steel, for household it is duralumin. But there are also household ones with a stainless steel boiler, as a rule, these are top models. It is also worth noting that there are several safety valves in industrial ones, but there is usually no automatic shutdown. What for ? After all, being in the atelier, he must always be on and ready to work. Again, for those who are in a hurry to get to work ...
The industrial sole is usually polished stainless steel, which can be cleaned without harm even with aggressive chemicals, which, by the way, can be polished in case of scratches. However, it does not slide in the best way. Household soles with newfangled coatings or ceramic cannot be polished, and they must be cleaned carefully, but they glide well. In the advanced household, marketers come up with all sorts of "i fashion" modes, in industrial it is more and more pragmatic - the temperature and the amount of steam, or even just the temperature.
Well, as an industrial attribute, it is a pressure gauge and a handle made of a crust, although it happens in everyday life.
In general, either not hasty and durable, or quickly, but suddenly.
Alenka212
Just kill me, I can't understand how dry steam can be used to smooth out overdried cotton better! The only thing I found in the reviews is that the iron is heavy and because of this it does not leave folds.
In no case do I campaign for anyone, and I do not argue with the owners of silter 2020. I just share my impressions about my own.
According to fairy customs, on Monday evening, bed linen (a set of euros with two pillowcases made of thick cotton produced by Tagaz) and towels were washed to a pile. Naturally, by Tuesday morning, the pillowcases and sheets were dry, and the duvet cover was damp. Usually I did this ironing in the morning when I iron my clothes on the way out. Adding a few details to the clothes. Naturally, the under-ironed linen moved from day to day.
It was because of this that it was required: 1. auto-off (just in case) 2. increase the speed and quality of ironing.
Yesterday I stroked everything! Now I iron the bedding only at a low temperature (so the steam is wetter) with ECO or double steam.
Today, my husband's repertoire included a cotton sweatshirt with a polymer pattern, my daughter's naturally cotton T-shirt and my thin but overdried (Infection) blouse, ironically also cotton. The steam station did a great job in terms of speed and, most importantly, quality. In the same mode. By the way, after adding water, steam appears almost immediately.
* Tanya *
The fact of the matter is that this household silter 2020 / pd is made for an industrial one. I read from the characteristics: the boiler body is made of stainless steel, there is no need to fill in distilled water, thanks to the special coating of the boiler. Stainless iron soleplate, 4 degrees of protection against overheating of the steam generator, it turns off automatically when there is a shortage of water, a vertical steaming function is provided. The steam generator produces dry continuous steam for 1.5 hours. For me, this time is quite enough, I even iron less in time, so more volume is not needed for home. I don’t know about sliding, since I don’t have any at all, ceramic soles are also scolded, it seems like ceramics are breaking off, we must take great care. So I'm still wondering what to buy so I won't regret it later.

no need to fill in distilled water, thanks to the special boiler coating.
they have written delirium. Scale adheres very easily even to Teflon and ceramic coatings. And then the whole line through which the steam goes is not limited to one boiler. Purified water still needs to be poured.
Of those functions that are in steam generators, they turned out to be very useful for me:
Automatic shutdown if you do not use it for some minutes. I'm afraid, because my wife forgot to turn off the iron twice.
Topping up water without switching off the steam station. I have a capacity of 1.5 liters, but at the maximum flow, water is still enough for 30 minutes.
Removable tank, you can remove it, go to the kitchen and pour (I have filters).
Temperature adjustable
The ability to adjust the amount of steam regardless of temperature.
Fast heating.
Perhaps the rest of the device.

Such functions are also available in cheap steam generators with an iron. Especially in the search to strain and do not need.

Well, it is clear that it is still better to fill the water with purified water to extend the service life. But the fact that this steam generator has been operating in the studio for several years already speaks of a high-quality model. And it even seems to have a shutdown function in it if you do not use it (although I could be wrong) and its steam adjustment is from 10 to 70mg. Dr.NO, and what is your model, I forgot? I do not insist on Silter, I just choose for myself, I decide for now ..

Probably my model is not represented in Russia
I have Siemens ts45450, it suits me. The problem he has is that he needs good wiring. The term is not yet a long six months, though.
Decide on the functions you need, then look at the device, quality and reviews.

* Tanya *, buy, share your own experience.

, cheap steam generators have different characteristics, for example, power, the amount of steam produced, the absence of steam shock.
I also wanted with less blood (without any special financial losses), but according to the declared characteristics, mine was very suitable for me.
But now there is no need to cover myself with sweat in thought: have I turned off the iron. And for my husband to go, check ...
Taia
I do not insist on buying a cheap device at all.
I have an old steam generator, I'm afraid that soon it will crumble, so I look closely at the opinions and assortment, I try to figure out for myself what is needed, based on my experience ...
And you're wrong, there is a steam boost in my cheap.

Yesterday I finally bought a steam generator in METRO for a promotion !!! : Yahoo: This morning I started ironing (I specially accumulated things, different in fabric), while I am sooooo happy with the purchase (like an elephant) The difference in ironing is very noticeable. I have a good iron, also Phillips, he is 2 years old, the sole is the same in quality, but the steam generator irones better and faster. Bed (euro), coarse calico, duvet cover was smoothed in four folded state only on two sides, everything turned out great. I caught myself thinking that I was looking for a water supply button,: lol: a long-term instinct worked. Jeans, T-shirts, linen tablecloth, everything was ironed perfectly. Thank you girls for opening this topic, they helped a lot with their advice and experience.

Hurrah! I bought a steam iron, finally. I wanted him for so long - I hate stroking. The old Tefal iron could not withstand numerous falls from the board, during its 16 years of service it fell 20 times, and .... everything was fine, but the last time it stopped heating up. Now, with a clear conscience, I will give it to my husband for repair experiments. I chose, chose, went to the store for Phillips 9220, but it was not there, they took it apart! But I could no longer leave without an iron (shirts are waiting to be ironed!), Took 8620. At home, the first thing I did was ironed the wrinkled jeans dried after washing - great! Easy and fast. I will tell you what I paid attention to - the steam does not burn, it concentrates in the fabric, the water does not grunt much, pouring into the iron, it really heated up in 2 minutes, the iron itself is light, you don't need to press on the board. I liked the first experience. Looking forward to the next ironing session with curiosity.
* Tanya *
Anastasia, congratulations on your purchase! There were also more lucky owners. And I'm all in thought ..
AnastasiaK
Thank you! I would not be in a hurry either, but the old iron ordered me to live a long time ... And the price is biting - 12 thousand rubles. But I hope it will last a long time. And ironing has reached a new level, otherwise you can't force yourself. Make up your mind!
Tatiana Gnezdilova
AnastasiaK, congratulations on your purchase !!! , let it serve for a long time and please you.

Thank you, now it remains to sign up for the fly lady club, otherwise I have been getting off with the necessary ironing for many years (like men's shirts), but I don’t iron knitwear and bed linen, we can now become a hostess. Join))))).

And who can say - a simple steel board with perforation is suitable for an iron with a steam generator, or is it absolutely necessary to purchase a board with a "blower-blower"? How much I read or hear - everyone speaks differently. Whom to believe?
lega
Okay, but active is much better. And it is desirable that the board is heated.
I can give you an example with a refrigerator. After all, the old Soviet ones froze well, but living with a no-frost or "crying" wall is much more convenient.

P.S. The active board has only one drawback - it makes noise. The fan is quite noisy, at least on my system. Previously, I always ironed under the TV or radio, now I had to give up this habit.
Dr.NO
igorechekIf the board has a metal mesh, then it is normal. If with perforation, then it is not good, the steam is reflected, the cover gets wet quickly. The laundry is damp. I had an old one with a rather rare perforation, changed it to an active one, it became good.
igorechek
Thanks for answers. I have a good iron, it suits me, my wife - no. Ironing something more. So I want to buy with a steam generator. Until recently, I somehow did not look at them, even strangely somehow ... Usually, I, and not my wife, initiate the purchase of equipment for the house.
And more questions.
As far as I understand, the blow-blow board should be stored unfolded or the assembly process for compact storage is short-lived? I do not want to set aside extra storage space for the open board.
Does the mesh board leave traces of the mesh on the clothes themselves? They express themselves in different ways, although most of them are related to ironing with a simple iron.

1) The board is folded like a regular one, only it takes up a little more space in terms of "thickness".
2) It depends more on the cover and mesh size. The mesh should be metal.

igorechek
It's good that you can fold, otherwise the children run back and forth, I don't want to force my not huge rooms with obstacles.
Dr.NO
igorechekBut they are not cheap. I bought a Boshevskaya for 6900, for 9000 it was heated. Essno Bosch does not produce them himself, OEM production.
igorechek
Yes, that's understandable. As soon as you buy one technique, you need to buy more bells and whistles in addition to the "load". What is there to do ? Convenience always requires some "investment". Okay, thanks, I'll keep an eye on the board. I will probably buy a steam generator with Philips 9550 or 9545.
Creamy
I have an active Lelit board, heated, almost silent. True, dear, an infection, now it costs more than 17 thousand rubles
AnastasiaK
Second day with an iron. Cotton is still UNREAL. I iron an ordinary thin pillowcase - I have to iron it on TWO sides because it doesn't get smoothed through, the creases from the washing machine are in place, as soon as you take the iron away the folds bulge out again. I iron a man's shirt - the same song, ironed the back as I usually do from the seamy side, lo and behold - but it is necessary to iron it from the front side, that is, the effort is twice as much. Shirts made of a mixture of cotton and synthetics are ironed better, well, they are not difficult to iron with an ordinary iron. For cotton, it seems to me that the sole temperature is not enough, I usually ironed at a high temperature and pressed hard. And here ironing is done mainly with steam, its temperature is higher, but something is missing for cotton. I can imagine how I will iron linen, I dreamed of ironing tablecloths and trousers. This is such a mixed experience.
