Cod in a crispy poppy-nut crust

Ingredients

melted cod 4 slices
food poppy 4st. l.
walnuts 1/2 cup
butter at room temperature 80g
salt 1h l.
pepper

Cooking method

  • Grind the walnuts (at your discretion, it can be smaller, it can be larger), pour into a cup.
  • Cod in a crispy poppy-nut crust
  • Add salt and poppy to it.

  • Mix everything well and add oil (room temperature) to hold the mixture together.

  • Dry the cod pieces with a paper towel, season with salt and pepper lightly on each side and roll in the poppy-nut mixture. We put it on a baking dish, in the recipe it is recommended on baking paper, I put the fish right on the mold, greasing it with oil.

  • Put in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 15-20 minutes until crisp.

And do not try, it must be tried. I somehow reminded me of fried fish caviar, but this is probably my "wild" fantasy. Generally speaking, poppy tastes quite differently than, for example, in poppy baked goods, it seems to me that you can't even guess its taste in a finished dish (only in appearance). Walnuts are also walnuts, after baking, you can't guess the taste, I don't really like them when fresh, and after baking they have a different taste.

Well, wow, and yesterday I made pink salmon according to a similar recipe (from the newspaper "Samobranka Tablecloth"). First, the slices (previously marinated in ketchup) into corn flour, then into grated cheese, into an egg, and then into poppy seeds. Everyone liked it very much.
