Ice making options in Brand 3812 ice cream maker

One lemon and ginger root, cut into slices, brewed with a glass of boiling water, allowed to cool, filtered, brought to 280ml and poured into an ice cream maker. The time was left by default, 1 hour.
The temperature dropped to -14g and 1 hour is a lot, the ice was impossible to get and with the defrosting function, for some reason I could not cope, I had to wait for the ice cubes to move away from the mold by themselves.
The slightly warmed cubes easily popped out of the mold.

We recommend to enable the Defrost function:
After running the Ice Cream or Freezing program, without switching off the program, enable the Defrost function.
The previous program will be deactivated and Defrost will be activated.
This program works for 3 minutes, but you can turn it off earlier with the Power button.

And if you turn off the Freeze program and then click Defrost, that defrosting will not happen?

No, it won't.
The Defrost mode works only when the Ice Cream and Freeze programs are on.
If you disable these programs, then press the Defrost button, the button will not work.
