Poodle with tomatoes (chickpea pancakes)

Ingredients

Chickpea flour 1 mst (180ml)
Wheat flour 1/4 mst (45 ml)
Tomatoes 2 pcs
Parsley 1 bundle
Ginger root (can be ground) 2 cm
Vegetable oil 2-3 st. l.
Salt taste
Spices (ground):
red hot pepper, black pepper taste
Spices (ground):
coriander, turmeric, cumin, taste
asafoetida (can be substituted for garlic)
Lemon or lemon juice

Cooking method

  • Poodles are Indian chickpea pancakes. Usually with different vegetables. They are prepared with tomatoes, courgette, eggplant, carrots, bell peppers, etc.
  • I had to save two tomatoes, because my pancakes will be with tomatoes.
  • If there is no chickpea flour, prepare it from chickpeas or yellow lentils. We dry chickpeas (lentils) in a dry frying pan and grind with a coffee grinder, a mill, etc.

  • Peel the tomatoes. We send them to the blender. There are also greens, ginger, if there is no asafetida, then a clove of garlic (although Ayurvedic cooking does not welcome this). Grind. It turns out ok. 200-230ml

  • We mix the flour and our vegetable mixture. There are also salt, spices and herbs. For spices and herbs, the approximate proportion is as follows:
  • for 1 tsp. coriander 3/4 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp asafoetida, 1/4 tsp black pepper, red hot pepper on the tip of a knife (although usually they use a small fresh pod without partitions and seeds) ... I don't really like cumin, so I add it on the tip of a knife, but you can do up to 1 tsp.
  • Our amount of dough needs half of this mixture.
  • Knead everything, add vegetable oil to the dough. I prefer to add butter to the dough rather than fry on it.
  • Poodle with tomatoes (chickpea pancakes)
  • I baked in a BBK grill for 3 minutes at the maximum power of both heating elements.

  • Serve with garlic-yoghurt sauce (but this is not welcomed by Ayurvedic cooking, although delicious) or with lemon / lemon juice. I prefer the second option

Mannyun, but in Orioshka you can also bake this, yes! This is so, thinking aloud, because I have no grills.

I have a recipe for such pancakes with lentils. Thanks for the chickpea. We eat lentils in soup very well, but chickpeas sometimes get stale. Now I will know that it can be used for flour.
Manna
Yes, Ksyunya, I just wanted to write about it and forgot. I think Orion should do great

By the way, if the dough turns out to be thick, you can dilute it with ordinary water. Although now all tomatoes are watery. But this is in case you do not cook with tomato, but with drier vegetables.

I have a zucchini and eggplant recipe. They are also quite watery. The recipe says: "... adding water, stir until the consistency of liquid sour cream." But the amount of water is not indicated. I stumbled upon the Talerka project. ru, there are quite a few interesting recipes from all over the world.

Oh, I have not seen this, I will go and study, thank you for the tip

I went there ... took a walk ... there is also a recipe for puddles just on lentils and with garlic. You were talking about this recipe, right?

Right now I remembered ... about chickpeas ... I also have a recipe for chickpea cutlets ... somehow I had to dispose of the chickpeas a couple of times, the cutlets came out quite good ... I will have to repeat it somehow and arrange the recipe

Yes, Mann, there I first met Indian lentil pancakes. I was looking for a recipe for gherkins for a snack in the cucumber season.I got on broken cucumbers on this site, walked around it and left it in my bookmarks.

Yes, I also liked this site because there are all recipes for sections of national cuisine, and the recipes are good.

Fronechka, well, I don’t know how flimsy your coffee grinder is. I grind it in the mill - I don’t have a coffee grinder, but I dream about it (I want with ceramic millstones) And these pancakes are very satisfying, try it
Gala
Great Poodle! I just yesterday stocked up on Indian spices for everyone. Just have time to cook
Manna
Check mark, Thank you! It is, indeed, delicious, especially for those who love this kind of cuisine.

By the way, a poodle can be not only pancakes, but also a flat cake.
Gala
Mannochka, so I will make a cake
Manna
Then the dough should not be liquid (so as not to spread), but not too steep, so that the dry cake is not ... something like thick store sour cream
Gala
Thank you, Mannochka, I will take everything into account.
