Pie Grandma's scarf

Ingredients

Flour - approximately 3.5 stack.
Butter 200 g
Milk 1 glass
Sugar 2 tbsp. l.
Salt 0.5 tsp
Dry yeast (or fresh) 2 tsp (50g)
Egg (for lubrication) 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • Mix yeast with salt (if you use fresh yeast, then grind it with salt) add milk, flour, sugar, softened butter. Knead the dough. The dough should not be thick and heavy (it is better to dust it with flour before cutting), quickly during the kneading process it begins to peel off from the hands.

  • Put in a container and ... in the refrigerator. After 4 hours, you can bake. Take it out of the refrigerator (the dough does not rise much, it takes its own in the oven), let the dough warm up a little and mold ... The whole process can be done overnight, and in the morning you can bake pies and pies. Many keep the dough in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Roll the finished dough into a layer (use one part of the dough) and cut it into long strands.

  • Weave a mesh from the bundles to the desired size, as shown in the photo. Weave a net on parchment.

  • To transfer the net to the bottom layer of the cake, fold the top side of the parchment paper exactly along the top contour of the net so that the small parchment “tongue” is between the apple layer and the parchment paper itself, on which the net is located.

But these wooden ones look like real knitting needles - a pointed tip, a thickening at the other end, not thick ... And the baked ones will break until you insert them into the loops ...
