Figs with gorgonzola in a prosciutto ring

Ingredients

Figs fresh (figs) 4 things.
Prosciutto in thin slices 4 things.
Gorgonzola dolce (blue cheese) 8 Art. l.
Balsamic vinegar (sauce) 2 tbsp. l.
Red hot pepper flakes 1/3 tsp
Olive oil 1 tbsp. l.
Basil leaves (optional, for decoration)

Cooking method

  • I wondered what to cook from figs, which on occasion (and this case - Marina Twist, who seduced me with her crumble with figs) acquired a lot. Found a wonderful recipe from Ann Burrell, which is obscenely good (the taste is divine!) And also obscenely easy to prepare. I want to share it with you.
  • Preheat the grill (in the oven, electric grill, grill pan or, finally, just a thick-bottomed pan).
  • While it's warming up, cut off the fig tails (they'll get in the way of wrapping them in ham), cut the figs in half lengthwise.
  • We push each half (pulp) in the center with a finger to make a depression, pour in a little less than 0.5 tsp. balsamic vinegar (I had a thickened balsamic sauce).

  • Cut the prosciutto (dry-cured ham) slices in half lengthwise to get narrow strips.
  • Figs with gorgonzola in a prosciutto ring
  • On the figs sprinkled with balsamic, put about a tablespoon (no top) of cheese and sprinkle with hot pepper flakes.

  • Wrap each half with a strip of prosciutto, sprinkle the ham with an olive oil spray (you can brush it over).

  • Bake under the grill (or fry on all sides) for 6-8 minutes.
  • I baked in the oven under the grill at the highest temperature on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • When serving, sprinkle with balsamic vinegar or, like me, pour the juice released during baking as a sauce. Decorate with basil leaves (optional).
