Banbury Cookies

Ingredients

Yeast-free puff pastry 400g
Light raisins 70g
Dark raisins 70g
liquid honey 1 tbsp. the spoon
nutmeg pinch
cinnamon 1/2 tsp
allspice 1/2 tsp
rum / cognac 1 tbsp. the spoon
egg 1 PC
sugar 3 tbsp. spoons
butter 50g

Cooking method

  • Mix the softened word oil with honey, add all the spices, stir everything until smooth. Add prepared raisins, rum to the oil, mix. All this is done easily by hand.
  • Roll out the dough, cut out circles about 7-8cm in diameter. Put the filling on the circle and pinch the edges to the center, make a small bag, turn the seam down and roll slightly with a rolling pin. Put the cookies on a baking sheet covered with a rug or baking paper, grease the cookies with an egg, sprinkle with sugar and make 3 cuts with a sharp knife. bake for 25 to 40 minutes, depending on the oven, until a nice golden brown.
  • I didn't pour out three tablespoons of sugar, too much, one was enough. And notice - pepper fragrant.
  • I didn't have a suitable mug, I took a plastic jar, it turned out to be a little too big, as a result, and the cookies turned out to be very generous.
  • The aroma is awesome. The husband eats the third "cookie", he really likes it.

Tan, such bombs are beautiful, chubby charms Not for nothing that my husband got carried away

Tan, they really should be smaller, but I couldn't find a suitable shape a little smaller. What can you do? it is not for nothing that they say that a large piece and the mouth rejoices

Oh, what cookies !!! Tanya, as always, everything is outrageously simple and appetizing. And looking at night ...
Buy dough tomorrow? (I myself do not know how to do this) But I strained with alcohol in the house - I saw off all the guests, the "bins" are empty ...

Tatiana, I really liked the recipe! I love baked goods with raisins.

Oh, what a wonderful recipe! I will definitely bake it. Your cookies look much more appetizing than those of the source. I want the ones in your photo. I think it will work out.
celfh, Tatyana, did you sprinkle the cookies with sugar?
celfh
Sprinkled, but not as abundantly as suggested in the recipe. Three spoons is too much for us.
And the cookie looks different because I didn't roll it flat. To be honest, I just pressed it down with my palm. And it's better to eat these cookies warm.
Lagri
And when the cookie cools down, it already crumbles, probably strong and dry? Anyway, I'll try how to do it with you and also press it with my palm. Such beautiful cookies in the photo that they ask right into the mouth.

In the morning we had only one cookie left, I can't say that it was very dry, after all, there were a lot of oils, but it was not as tasty as the warm ones. Warm ones have amazingly tasty filling. For good for this cookie, the dough itself would be made, it is still much tastier, but laziness was born before me
yasmin
Is it better to make cookies from yeast-free puff pastry or can they be made from yeast puff pastry? : - \ The second, it seems to me, will be more tender.
celfh
yasminI had a puff yeast dough
yasmin

Very beautiful) I really don't like dried fruits (((And what can you put instead of raisins ??
celfh
Theoretically, nothing, but practically everything that goes with the spicy flavor of spices. The first thing that comes to mind is apples.
