missX, I cooked my borscht in the same way. First, I fried the meat with vegetables and beets. I put the cabbage and potatoes, poured boiling water and put them on the program. Braising for 1 hour. Heated for 15-20 minutes. Very tasty borscht turned out, just not so burgundy and it's not so important. Cooked only with fresh cabbage.

For borscht, I carcass onions and carrots with pickled tomatoes separately, beets with tomato paste separately. I never combine them! I put potatoes and cabbage in the broth with meat, and when they are cooked until half cooked I put the carrot and onion roast. And only when the borsch is practically cooked, I turn off the meat and put beets, garlic, herbs (parsley, dill, celery). The borscht has a beautiful burgundy color and is very tasty.Borscht in a multicooker Polaris
