English sponge cake

Ingredients

Biscuit:
Room temperature butter 175 g
Sugar 175 g
Eggs 3 pcs.
Flour 175 g
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Fat milk 2 tbsp. l.
Vanilla sugar 1h l.
Cream:

Cooking method

  • Biscuit:
  • Beat eggs separately. Grind butter with sugar until it becomes whipped cream, slowly pour in the beaten eggs and mix with a mixer until smooth. Sift the flour and add portions into the dough, stirring with a spoon (at this stage, only stir with your hands, no mixer). Pour in milk and vanilla sugar, mix gently by hand until smooth. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Then leave the cake in the form for 10 minutes.
  • Cream:
  • Assembly:
  • You can and should cut the cooled biscuit across, grease the bottom cake with jam, jam, and butter cream on top. This is a must-have part of an English biscuit. Cover gently with the top cake. But at that time I did not have orange jam, it fit in all respects for the decor. So I didn’t use any other jam.
  • Orange roses:
  • Most likely, you need to photograph how I do it. But in short, I take an orange, I don’t peel the zest. Due to the zest, the petals will hold. I cut an orange in half, then I cut each half with a sharp knife into thin plates, it turns out a plate like a marmalade of orange slices. Well, something like that comparison. Then I twist a slice, wind another on it, and so on. I fasten the resulting rose with toothpicks at an angle, taking into account the fact that they can then be pulled out without problems. I dip a rose in cake jelly, wait until I grab it. I spread it on the cake, lightly pour the cake jelly again, harden and take out the toothpicks.

The first time is always difficult, but the eyes are afraid, but the hands do.
The girls above were given a post for master classes. Thank you! I still twist each one myself. We should try to use candy molds.

H @ tka, welcome to our forum! But I will clarify small points, ok? According to the rules for decorating cake recipes, it is necessary to indicate the entire composition of the cake (and the dough and cream and everything that is included in it), as well as describe the entire cooking technology of each component, so I beg you to add the composition of the butter cream to the list of ingredients, as well as indicate its cooking technology. Since any recipe should be designed for the person who first takes up the preparation of the cake.
I would also like to know how many oranges are needed for such beauty?
Regards, section moderator.
P.S. the same goes for the biscuit in the recipe cake with curd soufflé ... It lacks a description of how to make a biscuit.

Where to get it from? Then I read what to insert into the tartlets. Maybe pour the roses with gelatin in them, and then pull them out, and on the cake ???
