I have an Alaska waffle maker. I bought it at a sale - I was tempted by the price (((The first time the waffles came out normal, everything worked out well (I just made milk waffles and they came out soft), and when I started making waffles the second time according to the standard recipe, they started to burn with me - and this is given that the waffle iron is with a non-stick coating. I tried to smear with butter - it does not help. What should I do? Maybe someone encountered such a problem? Please tell me something ...
Hairpin
I had uneven heating in the Smile waffle iron (some were raw, some were burnt out). I handed it back to MediaMarket. I wrote about it above with pictures.

Did they burn even at minimal heating?
Try, wipe it with paper napkins, ignite the empty one at maximum power, cool and grease it with oil again, a little. It is possible that the matter is in the recipe itself.

Such simple bread waffles always turn out
1/3 cup oatmeal
2/3 whole grain flour (can be simple)
0.5 tsp baking powder
2/3 -3/4 st of water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1st = 250 ml

What do you think, is it possible to make a cake out of thin waffles? or how the rubber will turn out?

Rather not rubber, but porridge, waffles quickly soak and become soft, I remember as a child they made horns for school holidays with gatherings and thick cream (boiled condensed milk with nuts) had to be refueled before eating, otherwise the whole thrill from crispy waffles would end, well, maybe what can be contrived and layered with more bezeyless cakes
Qween
JUFA , I make a cake from these waffles. We really like it, it doesn't look like porridge at all. Cream - condensed milk with butter, nuts. The cake is tender, does not crunch.
To crunch, this is a different recipe (not cake).

Does anyone use a grill to make waffles

Kenwood HG 186

It has a 6-speed temperature controller, waffles in the form of flowers

🔗

Should I take it for waffles or not?
julifera
Well, no one answered me, I had to rummage through the entire Internet, but I did not find anything how this unit bakes waffles.
I watched it for several days, tried it, I liked the design very much, it was simple and reliable, and also the temperature control separately for the upper plate and separately for the lower one.
I didn't like the Phillips at all, the tefal was also kind of flimsy ...
And in this kenwood, the power is good for frying and adjustment to 240 in steps of 30 degrees, and the grill is very good, it will completely replace the grill pan, which I really wanted but never bought, I thought that I could live without it.

In short, I still bought Kenwood - HG-186 and I'm very happy !!!!!!
The waffles came out tasty, delicious !!!!!
The lower plate was set at 210 degrees, the upper one at 240, otherwise at 210 on both plates the top was not baked, and the bottom was already ready.
The handles are quite safe, they do not heat up, you can see from the indicators how each plate is already heated or heated. Warmed up quickly, in about 5 minutes.
It is also convenient that two waffles at a time, quickly and not time consuming.
The only drawback is the heavy device.

Here are pictures of my first waffles in my life, I laid out the dough inappropriately, and on the first run, everything superfluous outside the flowers crawled out in a puddle, but also baked, it was possible to eat. Then I got used to it

julifera, thick waffles (belgian, corrugation)? or those that can be rolled up? I look closely at the waffle irons for thick waffles ... And that heavy is not a drawback!

I'm not strong in classifications yet, until I can distinguish the corrugations from the Belgian ones, but this Kenwood is definitely not for thin waffles.
If, when cooled, they turn out to be crispy, then they themselves break into hearts. If they are soft, then they are held by a flower.

The recipe that I did - some under-baked waffles (due to my inexperience) turned out to be rubber, I then finished them in a toaster.
Hairpin
It seems to me that corrugations and Belgian waffles are one and the same ...
lina
"He's goga, he's gosh ..."
how do I know how julifera calls her waffles ... so I listed it)))
So this is the one I am looking at. And bakes evenly
obgorka_gu
julifera cool waffle iron! Congratulations on your purchase! I also looked closely at the Phillips and Tefal and did not make an impression (in terms of reliability) (I did not see it only with muzzles, otherwise I would probably be tempted). I'll take note of Kenwood (we'll put it in line after the bread maker, pizza maker, marinator ...) I have a Word file with gadgets that I want to open with big problems (a bunch of photos)
julifera
Thank you obgorka_gu

Learning to feel the waffle dough.
According to the recipe that I did the first time, I did it again and added less water, I wanted them to be drier and crisper - so the waffles turned out to be slightly wooden, but my son still liked it.
Then I made a recipe: 5 tbsp. tablespoons of flour, 5 eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, 200 g of margarine, a little baking powder (again I had to add a little water)
It turned out to be some pancakes to taste, I liked it more or less, but my son did not.

You will need to try a bunch of options to find your own.

But we quickly ate something with waffles, probably I did a lot foolishly
That could have eaten these waffles with milk all day, but now no longer ...
And I’m tired of the bread, I don’t want it at all ... and rolls and pies ...
liaka
I bought a ves sk-a7 waffle iron the other day, after the first use I returned it, it has uneven heating of the plates, the middle is not baked, and one edge is on fire. The seller refused to accept, the device is in good working order, but I even took the waffles with me, so I could not argue. It’s a shame, I don’t know how to buy another one, it will suddenly be the same or even worse, and returning the device is not a very pleasant procedure ((((Is it possible to go to shops with a test? Check it on the spot right away? I will, otherwise it will be more difficult to return. And how do you want a quality waffle iron for any money !!!!!
Anastasia
Girls, I just saw our Russian waffle iron for thin waffles in our hardware store! It is called Slastena, produced in Chelyabinsk, and costs 1640 rubles. There are two pieces in stock, but if necessary, they can also bring them. Shop 5 minutes walk from the metro station "st. Skobelevskaya", address-Boulevard Ushakov, house 18. Just in case, took the phone to the department where they are sold 8-910-432-14-76
, otherwise there are many shops in this house.
You can also look at online stores. Here, for example, is a photo and a description
🔗 , only more expensive than in our household.
liaka
Hurrah!!! Here's a coincidence. I went into a hardware store next to my house, and there was a waffle iron "Sweetheart", bought a waffle oven and ran home to check it. It's a pity I didn't have time to take a picture, and the dough was unsuccessful. And the waffle iron works "like a clock", not in comparison with the Chinese, which I returned. There are also disadvantages - the smell of chlorine when heated, my husband said that this PVC stinks and it is in my waffle iron on the upper frying surface, where the fasteners, there is a crack of 2 cm, I hope that it will not affect the operation of the device. The wafers are not baked evenly, but the waffles are pretty, even in thickness, thin and crunchy
Hairpin
Anastasia!
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Otherwise, the newcomers won't find him! Especially considering that it was first published in Ice Cream Makers!

By the way, I also recommend this recipe.

And sometimes I make cakes from them. That is, I lubricate the cooled ones with cream. The same is interesting. But very ... not dietary !!!
Mueslik
Oh, that's about the cakes, it's interesting ...
Hairpin, and with what cream do you make?
Hairpin
After lessons in Tortyzhka, I'd rather close my mouth with my palm ...
In general, butter + condensed milk! I laid out Bubu, but I don't remember whether our proportions coincided or not.
https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/in...mf&Itemid=26&topic=8954.0

According to the proportions, Bubu has more condensed milk (300 g of butter / 400 g of condensed milk), but I have 1: 1 and I don't put cocoa. And so it seems, the same thing. The idea itself - for sure!

I tried to make waffles according to this recipe, a delight, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the recipe, Anastasia, otherwise I used to make some kind of rubber waffles and I also liked that the waffles are easily formed into any shape according to this recipe and their edges are so torn and porous - --- BEAUTY

Okay, let's say the interest in hazelnut has already passed. Girls, tell me, pliz, which waffle iron is better to buy? I mean the manufacturer.

Share your experience: how do you calculate the dough and put it into the forms? Is a lot squeezed out of the form? How do you act in these "waste" then?

My mom breaks off the "excess" from the edges, crumbles even smaller, and interferes with the cream / filling.

[/ b] leska, Fishing line, regardless of the manufacturer, they are all assembled in China. I bought a waffle iron in the Metro store for thin waffles, so it burns one edge, and everything else is not baked. The husband went to the websites of the manufacturers of these waffle irons and other equipment, and so he read there, if the plant is under the strict control of the company, then the product is of high quality (for example, a bread machine), and there may be another plant behind the fence that does the same , but without control, hence the quality. I found a wholesale warehouse where there are our, domestic "Slasten" waffle makers, but there is a minimum batch of 20 thousand rubles, and 1 waffle iron costs about a thousand. Someone here gave a link to a site where you can order such a waffle iron, but the price goes off scale - somewhere 2900+ sent by mail. As I understand it, they do not have courier delivery.

I bought a VES waffle iron for thin waffles, it also burned the edge, and the middle was not baked, I returned it to the store. Smile, Kuban-5, VES are very similar in design, as if they are produced in the same underground and are cheap. And I bought Slastenu in an ordinary household goods store. Somewhere in Moscow, a businessman bought it. I can basically ask him

waffles are thin, yes. I also realized that a lot depends on the test. According to Anastasia's recipe, the waffles began to turn out perfect, and before that, the ones in the pictures were somehow rubbery and pale.
By the way, I bought Slastonu for 1500r, the first times the smell of pvc was strong when heated, after several times it seems to have disappeared or I don't feel it anymore

Girls, I still can't find tried thick waffle recipe. Everything that was offered, somehow, did not inspire. And, having visited Italy, I tried their waffles, which are baked and put ice cream on top. I liked them. The dough outwardly looks like not yeast, not at all liquid, but such balls. But asking for a recipe is useless (language barrier, and I don't think the girl who sells them knows the recipe). Ready-made waffles tasted like donuts. Maybe someone knows how to make such waffles?

Here one more question is ripe. Since the hazelnut is of the Soviet type as in the photo, the question arises - can I use it on a glass-ceramic plate? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I could not.To my great regret, I have been thinking about this from time to time for 7 years ... Now, if I buy, then something similar is electric, but I don’t give such a device to anyone yet.

And, if not a secret, then where ??? I already have, but I would buy my mom

today I'm going to fix it))) only I live in the Saratov region, I think very few people will go to our backwoods for a waffle iron)))
another question: does "Sweet" have this non-stick coating or not?

bought "Sweet tooth" happy as an elephant !!! my husband liked the idea - he mixed the dough himself and bakes the waffles !!! yummy extraordinary !!!! now in the nearest plans to buy Philips 3 in 1, where thick waffles can be made.

It depends on what the bottom is made of. If made of aluminum, glass ceramics will not work. And if steel, why not, if the diameter of the burners passes
Qween
leska, Soviet "hazelnuts", etc. have such a shape of handles that the surface of the plates-pans does not "stick" tightly to the surface of the plate.
