Ingredients

light-salted herring 4 fillets
Boiled potatoes 4 things
boiled beets 1 PC
pickled cucumbers 2 pcs
onion 1 PC
dill 1 bundle
vodka 80 ml
white wine vinegar 2 tbsp. l.
sour cream 100g
mustard 1 tsp
boiled eggs for serving 2 pcs
salt pepper taste

Cooking method

  • In a special issue of the magazine "Culinary Collection 2" I found this unusual and so close to all of us salad. It has a very familiar taste, but still the vodka makes it softer and softer.
  • It fits my collection of herring snacks.
  • 1. Cut herring, beets, potatoes, cucumbers and onions into small cubes. Chop the dill.

  • 2. Whisk the vinegar with mustard, sour cream and chopped dill, vodka, salt and pepper.
  • Mix vegetables, onions and herring into this sauce.

Lyuba, I also love herring like you, and pickles are also (for me) healthier than salted ones. I'll tell you a secret that I used salty ones here - the effect, in my opinion, is not at all worse ...

Marish, I agree 100%. Especially, in my opinion, this applies to the alcoholic component. Not so long ago I found Escoffier's seafood salad dressing with a decent amount of cognac in the composition. I tried it and was very pleased!

Of course, this sauce can be used with both meat and fish - according to your taste. How would you describe its taste? The combination of mustard with sour cream and white wine vinegar really resembles mayonnaise, but somehow remotely.
In fruit salads, somehow I didn't even have a thought to use it ...
