Chicken baked with grapes The smell of Christmas

Ingredients

chicken weighing 1-1.3 kg
grapes 700g
bulb 3 pcs
fresh ginger 100g
dates 10 pieces
bouillon 200ml
garlic 6 teeth
juice of 1 lemon
olive oil 3 tbsp. l
cinnamon pinch
salt pepper taste

Cooking method

  • On Christmas Eve, we are all in high spirits, in anticipation of the celebration and ... in search of the real Christmas smell and taste. These are undoubtedly sweet and sour sauces and spices.
  • For example, here's an English chicken recipe.
  • In grapes, the chicken looks very elegant, quite festive, and the taste is as bright and unique as the holiday itself!
  • 1. Divide chopped onion and garlic into 2 parts and mix one of them with grated lemon juice with ginger. Add garlic, olive oil, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
  • Rinse the chicken. Dry and rub with the prepared mixture. Leave to marinate for 1.5 - 2 hours.

  • 2. For filling the dates, wash the grapes, dry and cut in half, remove the seeds.

  • Fry onions and dates in oil (later add chicken filling to them and stew again).

  • 3. Remove the chicken from the marinade, fry in a pan until golden brown, 5 minutes on each side. Put the onion, garlic, ginger and marinade inside the chicken, add dates and grapes as needed. Fry the remaining filling with a portion of onion, ginger and lemon juice and broth and set aside. Fasten the incision with a skewer. Place the chicken in a mold and bake at 200 * C for 40-45 minutes.

  • 4. Take out the finished chicken, transfer it to a dish along with the sauce.

Marishawhat an extraordinary recipe! Grapes, ginger Let's try!

Thank you, Marisha! For us, in fact, this is quite an ordinary combination of sweet, bitter and spicy ... It's just that we are in a hurry all the time and try to devote less time to cooking, doing what is simpler.
You, Marish, know that all this does not take so long to prepare. But the result will delight everyone - and this is what we are trying to achieve!

Evgeniya, Thank you for your kind feedback! : rose: I'm glad that such associations arise from this chicken! The aroma is difficult to convey - a combination of ginger, cinnamon, garlic and onion with sweet aromas of dates and grapes ...
The grapes must be red and green, but we bought 2 in one (we were not asked how the variety is called). Everything will depend on how sweet the grapes are for your taste.

MariS, so I came across this great recipe. Question: where do we have fresh dates "grow" in Moscow? I mean, in which market stores?
MariS
IkraThanks for your interest in the recipe.
Fresh ginger in this recipe, and my dried dates are noticeable in the photo. You can also use dried ones, but in syrup, I think it's better not to take it - it will be too sweet ...
I can't remember where I bought it now. Most likely in their own area - either in "Morozko", or in "The Seventh Continent", and possibly in the Moskvoretsky market (there are also some dried ones in pretty factory packages).
I wish you a pleasant taste experience!
Ikra
MariS, Marina, thanks for the clarification. The dates are painfully good, they look like fresh.

Yes, Irina, and the taste pleasantly surprised me. I used to eat only dates in syrup.
And the chicken looks festive and the taste is piquant (yes, in fact, here you will not find any combinations - and there are many similar ones!).

Ikra
MariS, I take the chicken in bookmarks for the holidays without fail. Since we will leave Moscow on January 1, we need to cook something small for hot. I think we will sort this beauty by the bones. The grapes look very elegant, and I am sure that the taste is unusual.

Ikra
MariS, Thank you! The journey will be wonderful anyway. But first, the chicken!
