Sponge cake with nut honey in a double boiler

Ingredients

chicken egg 5 pieces
wheat flour (premium grade) 1/2 cup (70 gr)
sugar 1/2 cup (120 gr)
walnuts (chopped) to taste (about 0.5 cups)
raisins 40-50 gr
wheat bran 2 table. l. (20 gr)
vanilla sugar 1 sachet
honey 2 table. l. (50 gr)

Cooking method

  • I want to share a recipe for a delicious biscuit that is prepared in a double boiler. It looks like you can't say that it was not baked, but steamed. It tastes very pleasant, not dry and not wet, it can be stored for a very long time when covered, without staleness. Even when stored for 3 and 4 days, the taste does not deteriorate. And, most importantly, for those for whom fried and baked goods are contraindicated, it is just a godsend.
  • So let's get started:
  • 1. Separate the whites from the yolks. Set aside the yolks, beat the whites into a foam, then, without stopping whisking, add sugar and vanilla sugar a little and beat until the whites increase in volume several times.
  • 2. Add the yolks to the whipped egg whites and mix very gently with a dry wooden spoon with bottom-up movements.
  • 3. Add flour and mix very carefully with the same movements.
  • 4. In the same way we introduce wheat bran and honey.
  • 5. Add raisins (pre-washed and dried) and chopped nuts.
  • Lubricate the rice mold (from a double boiler) with sunflower oil and put the resulting dough into it. Cover with foil (tuck under the sides of the form), put in the basket and cook for 60 minutes. I, for greater importance (I am reinsured), at the end of 60 minutes add another 10 minutes. I think that this can not be done.
  • At the end of the cooking time, remove the cake pan from the basket and carefully remove the foil. The foil comes off very well. Shake the biscuit out of the mold (this is also very easy to do) and put to cool on the wire rack. If there are problems with taking out the biscuit, then gently push the biscuit away from the walls of the mold from all sides with your hand and then it will come out very well. The top of the biscuit can be brushed with honey or jam.

Note

I personally did not smear the top of the biscuit with anything, since it seemed to me self-sufficient. But, in principle, it can be cut and smeared with any cream, jam. This is for those with a sweet tooth. And for me there was enough sweetness in the dough itself. For beauty, I sprinkled a little powdered sugar and decorated with nuts.
I highly recommend making this biscuit!

Well, if "strongly", then - bookmark! That is, forget completely about your figure and urgently eat a biscuit with ice cream! By the way, it's very tasty.

Does it look like English pudding? I wonder if it is possible to cook it in a multicooker-pressure cooker in Steam mode?

Yes, you will definitely have to forget about the figure))

Olesya, Floks! You can not forget about the figure, because look, there is very little in the flour recipe! Mostly there are eggs. And also bran, which is a "whisk". So do not be afraid, feel free to cook!

Natalia, I haven't cooked English pudding, so I can't say anything about it. Is it possible to cook in the cartoon, I think it is possible. Only, probably not in the pressure cooker. It's just that the bowl is small in the multi, so I don't even know what kind of baking dish can fit in there ...because it turns out not small.

: hi: Natusichka! I have an Oursson slow cooker. You can cook in it not only like in a pressure cooker, but also like in a regular multicooker. The bowl is 5 liters (Well, this is under the eyeballs, usually less ...) The capacity of the double boiler is certainly less. You have to think and adapt, and then try to bake. An interesting recipe. Thank you!

Natalia, I heard that in some multicooker, the basket-steamer can be lowered lower (on the grate), in these you can safely cook this biscuit, since the lid will not interfere.

Natusichka, what an unusual biscuit. I once made buns for a sample in a double boiler, and here a biscuit is very good in composition, after all, it is true, it should not be very harmful to the figure. I will definitely try to make such a biscuit!
