Florentine Apple Pie

Ingredients

butter 100 g
granulated sugar 250 g
eggs (large) 3 pcs
zest of two lemons 2 tbsp. l
Orange juice 60 ml
milk 120 ml
wheat flour 300 g
vanilla sugar 1 tbsp. l
baking powder 16 g
apples (medium size) 3 pcs
For decoration:
icing sugar, cinnamon taste

Cooking method

  • Orange, lemons zest,
  • Apples, vanilla, cinnamon.
  • There are just so many of them in the pie,
  • To enjoy the taste!
  • To prepare the cake, all products need to be at room temperature, otherwise the dough may be divided into fractions.
  • Rub the zest of two lemons. Squeeze juice from the orange.
  • Beat the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each for at least a minute.
  • Sift flour with baking powder. Add a third of the flour to the egg and butter mixture, beat.
  • Add the zest, half the milk, orange juice. Whisk.
  • Alternately add the remaining flour and milk to the dough. Knead the dough thoroughly.
  • Peel the apples, remove the seeds. Mode into small pieces and add to the dough.
  • Grease the baking dish with a little butter. We spread the dough.
  • We put in an oven preheated to 180 (convection 160) degrees and bake until cooked for about an hour. Guided by your oven, the toothpick comes out of the finished cake dry. The approximate baking time in a multicooker is an hour and a half (we also check readiness).
  • We take the cake out of the mold and let it cool. Sprinkle the cake with icing sugar and cinnamon before serving.
  • Serve with a cup of tea and enjoy!

Baked according to the recipe - I didn't like the texture of the cake, there were problems with baking due to the fact that the dough was very, very liquid ... I think there is a typo. I increased the amount of flour (by 100 g), removed the apple, chopped from the dough on a grater (added it in pieces). And the rest is all according to the recipe.

Beaten eggs with sugar, added melted butter, poured milk (+ another 60 ml. Milk instead of orange juice) and flour .... I had only 1 lemon, but threw tsp. with the top of a lemon Kurd. I took more apples. Oh girls, I'm writing and I'm already eating 2 pieces !!!! The pie was a pleasant surprise .... not a biscuit, but not a cake either .... sooooo tender, airy, juicy! I baked in a multitude, the diameter of the bowl was 22 cm. I put it on for 1 hour and 5 minutes - a bit too much - just how tanned. Photos are still hot!

Good day. I'm making your cake today. All ingredients were taken at room temperature. I took apples not 3, but 4, since they are too small for me. For some reason, during baking (oven), the cake did not rise much ... Is that how it should be? Or did the baking powder fail? And in the middle of baking, the top crust of the pie burst. What caused this? The cake is still being baked, I cannot say anything about how long it will bake. Well, I will share about the taste a little later, when it cools down ...

I bake, by the way, in a mold with a diameter of 21 cm, shot with parchment both the bottom and sides.




I was very upset. I didn't have a cake. An hour later I began to check readiness with a splinter, each time there was dough on it, and so on for another hour !!! I baked the second hour under foil. After two hours of baking, I got angry and took everything out of the oven. The result is a dry crust, a wet middle. Baked at 180 C in an electric oven. But there are no complaints about the author, they are most likely against themselves.For this amount of dough, the 21 cm diameter mold is small! Next time I will try to bake in a larger diameter baking pan at the middle level. Maybe someone else can give advice on how to achieve good baking?
