Fig jam with orange

Ingredients

Fig fresh red 1 kg.
Fresh orange 1 large with skin
Fresh lemon 0.5 pcs. with skin
White sugar 600-700 grams to taste

Cooking method

  • Sort out figs, wash, remove spoiled places.
  • Cut the figs into quarters
  • Fig jam with orange
  • Fold in a saucepan with a thick bottom, cover with sand, shake, cover with a towel and leave for 12-24 hours until the figs give juice.

  • Put the figs on medium heat, boil it for about 20-30 minutes so that the berries saturate the sugar, remove from heat and leave for a day.
  • Add to figs, fresh orange, fresh lemon, in small pieces (break with a blender). Put the pan on fire, let it boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat and leave to cool and infuse for a day.
  • Allow the jam to boil again, reduce heat and simmer for about 15-25 minutes until the hot mass is pushed back in the pan with a soft silicone spatula, leaving a wide clean trace of the pan.
  • Pour hot jam into jars, close the lids and put to cool on the lids.
  • Jam prepares well, quickly turns into a thick jam mass, an important condition to remove its own juice and liquid from the mass.

Note

The jam came out with large slices of figs and small pieces of oranges. The taste is hard to tell that it is a fig, sweet, with an orange flavor. Therefore, you can reduce the sugar a little or add another 0.5 fresh lemon for acid.
