Ingredients

Flour 500 g
Milk 250 ml
Yeast 2 tsp
Egg 1 PC.
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp. l.
For filling:
Poppy 400 g
Sugar 3 tbsp. l
Raisins (various) 250 g
Rum or cognac 2 tbsp. l

Cooking method

  • Making a dough:
  • 100 ml. stir milk with sugar, add 3 tbsp. l tablespoons of flour, mix, add 2 tsp. yeast.
  • Mix and leave aside for 10 minutes.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl, add 1 tsp of salt, mix.
  • 10 minutes have passed, the dough has risen, add it to the flour, mix.
  • Beat the egg and add the remaining milk, mix and pour into the dough.
  • We knead a soft elastic dough.
  • Confused! Fine! Now we close it with foil and leave it to rise for an hour.
  • While the dough is defusing, we make the filling:
  • Poppy - 400 g put into a saucepan, pour water, and put on the fire, as soon as it boils, reduce the heat and cook our poppy for 10 minutes .. ohhh ... such a smell ... and it feels like there is a crowd of drug addicts behind the door ...
  • Then we drain the water, I put the gauze in a colander and pour the poppy contents into it ... then I squeeze the whole thing well.
  • I put the poppy on a dish to cool down a little. Then my raisins, I use two types of raisins - black isabella, and large green raisins. Next, you need to add spice to the raisins, pour it into a container and sprinkle with cognac or rum. Stir and leave to soak for 5 minutes.
  • The raisins were washed with rum)), the poppy has cooled down, then we mix, poppy seeds, raisins, sugar, (it is better not to add honey, the mixture spreads) add 2 more tbsp. l bread crumbs so that they take in all excess moisture.
  • Our whole mixture is ready.
  • So! An hour has passed, the dough has risen 2 times
  • We knead the dough well and roll it into a rectangle about 40 by 30.
  • We spread the poppy filling on the dough.
  • We turn off the roll.
  • And here the fun begins, we begin to decorate our roll.
  • Cut out stripes, leaves, roses, chamomile, flowers. In general, who knows what, and who has some kind of fantasy, we lubricate with water the place where the pattern will be laid out.

  • Everything was done, then we cover it with a film and leave it for 40 minutes to approach.
  • 40 minutes have passed.
  • The roll came up.
  • Lubricate the roll with yolk and water, and bake for 15-20 minutes at a temperature of 220 degrees and 10 minutes about 180.
