Strawberry compote with mint

Strawberry compote with mint

Ingredients

Fresh strawberries 500gr
Sugar 5st. l.
Water 2,5L
Fresh mint 3branches

Cooking method

  • Berry compotes are good because they give absolute freedom of proportions! You can add a little more sugar if you like sweets. You can pour less liquid - then the compote will turn out thicker and richer. The most important thing is to follow your taste. Strawberry flavor is relatively neutral, they are neither "hot" nor "cold", however, in combination with mint, they acquire a pleasant freshness and chill. And this will come in handy in the hot summer, both in the summer on a picnic in nature, and in a city apartment.
  • We wash the strawberries.
  • We separate them from the tails, put them in a bowl and cover them with sugar.
  • We leave for about half an hour so that the berries give juice.
  • We put water on fire and bring to a boil. Add the berries with sugar, bring the compote to a boil again and boil for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, add sprigs of fresh mint, cover with a lid and leave to infuse until it cools completely.
  • Serve the finished compote to the table cool.
