Orange juice - 9 liters from 4 oranges!

Ingredients

Oranges 4 things.
Sugar 1 kg
Lemon acid 30 g
Water

Cooking method

  • Orange juice: Wash 4 oranges, pour over with boiling water and wipe dry.
    Put in the freezer for 2 hours, preferably overnight.
    Cut and mince. I put 1 orange on the sample. After the freezer, do not cut it, defrost it in the microwave on the BREAD mode.
  • Pour the resulting mass with three liters of cold boiled water (I poured 750 ml), let it brew for about 10 minutes.
    Strain through a colander (so that large particles go away), then strain through a fine sieve, or through cheesecloth folded in 5-6 layers. If you filter directly through cheesecloth, then large particles will immediately clog the holes and the juice will be difficult to strain. (I just strained it through a fine colander, and squeezed the rest through cheesecloth.)
    Add another 6 liters of water, 1 kg of sugar and 30 g of citric acid to the strained juice. (I added 1l200ml, poured 250g of sugar and 7g of lemon)
    Stir everything, pour into bottles and let it brew for about an hour. The output should be 9 liters of delicious orange juice. (I got almost 2.5 liters).
    I declare with full responsibility - it turned out almost a JUICE FROM PACKAGES called "Orange nectar" !!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S VERY FAST AND VERY TASTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oranges are the fruits of an evergreen tree up to 12 m high. The leaves are oval, with a pointed tip, leathery; flowers are white, fragrant, single or in inflorescences; the fruit is a multi-celled berry.

Homeland - China. Cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of many countries; in the former USSR - on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus, in the Krasnodar Territory and in Azerbaijan.

By its taste and dietary properties, orange is one of the most valuable fruits, it has juicy, sweet or sour-sweet pulp. Fruits differ in size, shape and color of the peel, contain up to 12% sugars R (mainly fructose and sucrose), up to 1.3% organic acids, up to 60 mg% vitamin C, vitamins B, P, PP, carotene, calcium salts, potassium, phosphorus. According to morphological and gustatory characteristics, varieties of oranges are subdivided into: ordinary - fruits of a spherical shape with a light orange thin or medium thickness peel and light yellow pulp and juice, more often with seeds, with a peculiar taste and aroma; blobs - small fruits (90-170 g) oval or spherical, often with a skin tightly adhering to the pulp, with a blood-red color of pulp and juice, the pulp is tender, juicy, sweet and sour, with a typical wine flavor, few seeds; umbilical - fruits are large, spherical or slightly elongated, usually have a small underdeveloped fruit slightly protruding from the peel of the main fruit at their apex, the pulp is dense, slightly crunchy, tasty, aromatic, there are no or few seeds. In terms of sugar content, ordinary oranges are inferior to navel oranges, but more juicy.

Fresh and processed oranges are used (jam, preserves, candied fruits, compotes, juices).

Oranges are a valuable source of vitamin C, especially during the winter-spring period (the vitamin C content does not decrease during storage of oranges). The later the fruits are harvested (end of November - December), the sweeter they are and the better they are preserved.Oranges wrapped in tissue paper can be stored at about 5 ° C until May; at lower temperatures, brown spots appear on them and they become unsuitable for further storage.
