Red Lentil Soup (ARC Pressure Cooker)
Category: First courses
Ingredients
chicken broth 2 liters
onion 1 pc.
small carrots 1pc.
red lentils 3-4 handfuls
potatoes 3-4 pcs.
Cooking method

The broth was cooked in a pressure cooker, after I pulled out the meat, put all the ingredients there - lentils and potatoes, in principle, as you like in terms of density. The water for the broth was specially measured with a saucepan - 2 liters. Just when everything is thrown, it turns out 2.5 liters. The soup is easier than pea soup and tastes better. Soup program 10-12 min.

Cooking time: 10-12 minutes

Zhanochka tell me what is the difference between red and green lentils.? I didn't have to cook from them. I read that it is very useful. How is it not necessary to soak it? Share. what else was cooking new.

prubul, I have no idea how it differs. I also bought pardina lentils. also mistral, but it is dark and the soup becomes dark in color, not very beautiful. Unlike peas, no soaking. I tried milk rice porridge, never when it didn't turn out to be a mess like in the dining room, but I wanted so much, it finally happened. I baked a cupcake, made beef stroganoff, but I could not fry the meat, maybe it was necessary first to warm up the pan, and then put the meat, and so it began to stew. And how did you send St. to Usman?

Types of lentils and how to cook

There are several types of lentils: green, red and brown.

Green lentils are not quite ripe, they are sometimes called French. It is suitable for preparing a variety of salads and meat dishes, as it has the ability not to boil over and keep its shape. Although you will have to spend a little more time cooking it.

Brown lentils are already a mature crop. It cooks much faster, while emitting a light nutty flavor. But its cooking must be monitored, avoiding digestion, since it will immediately turn into a shapeless porridge. Brown lentils are used in soups, casseroles, salads, and stews.

Red lentils are called Egyptian lentils, they are uncoated, cook very quickly and are ideal for mashed potatoes and some types of soups. It is widely used in Asian cuisine, in particular, it is added to Indian dal (a variant of vegetable stew).

The advantage of lentils over other types of legumes is that they do not need to be soaked, but simply rinsed. Soups, cereals, mashed potatoes are usually prepared from lentils. There are also more difficult dishes to prepare - meatballs, meatballs, lentils with rice, lentils with tomatoes and onions, lentils with bacon, and so on. It is customary to season it with a lot of spices; it goes well with garlic and onions.

As for frying meat, I haven't even tried it. Health does not allow. Therefore, I switched to stewed and without fat. Everything is stewed in the pressure cooker. Tried only baked foil. It is necessary to throw in a personal Beretta maybe she cooked.
Yes, they did nothing. Allegedly burns due to the fact that she used baking paper. But this is all nonsense, I think. They just couldn't do anything and didn't bother. So, baked goods dropped out of the menu.

Personal thanks to Elena Bo for the answer
