Note

If you want to surprise your loved ones or guests, make a bamboo sprout salad and name it "Bamboo sprout salad"
The salad turned out to be very tasty, we ate it with a bang!
But, the taste is not due to bamboo sprouts, but due to sour apple and pickled red onions! Bamboo itself has no taste - no taste! The grass is inconspicuous!
Our fresh cucumber has a distinct taste and smell.

I saw a jar of bamboo sprouts in the department of oriental goods, I bought it, I wanted to surprise myself and my family with the exoticism of the East ... I was surprised ...
I will hope that bamboo sprouts at least contain vitamins that will benefit us ... for some reason oriental people eat it ...
Cook with pleasure and bon appetit! Bamboo sprouts salad

Interestingly, can you replace bamboo sprouts with something?

What for? Based on the fact that they have no bright taste at all, it is possible to do without bamboo sprouts completely
If the question was to replace some useful properties with other useful ones, then one could look for a replacement - and so ...

It would be possible not to post this recipe on the forum at all, but I figured that if someone suddenly wants to repeat my experience with bamboo sprouts, let him know about this fact that one should not expect a bright and characteristic taste from bamboo sprouts, it simply does not exist!
Nagira
Admin-Tatiana, thanks for the exotic! The salad is very appetizing!
I saw such jars, but did not dare to buy in any way, probably there was not enough information to take a chance ...
You pushed me to look for what I could give such money (without an amphibian)

Tatyana Tverdenko has a good article with a photo from the site - about her "hunt for bamboo shoots". On the subject of taste, she writes:
"Raw bamboo sprout will only please if you like to eat ordinary grass."
🔗

And at nanohana1 from LJ found an interesting post on how she cooked and tasted sprouts:
"So, I bought fresh bamboo shoots. I think I'll cook it myself and put it in HAPPOUSAI. Not such a troublesome thing, as it turned out.
And when it boiled, it turned out to be SO TASTY! Without any sauce, you can eat THIS!
THAT is why I changed my mind about putting it in HAPPOUSAI. He would simply "get lost" there ... "

Very tempting! but reading further, I was upset:
“I usually do without bamboo shoots in cooking.
In dishes in which it can and should be put, I simply ignore it. Just because semi-finished bamboo,
which are sold in stores are completely tasteless, and sometimes have a terrible taste of "soap",
and if we talk about sprouts harvested in China, then this is generally such a g ... "

And the fact is that the taste of fresh sprouts manifests itself if you boil them with a lot of rice bran and can just preserve them in water ...

Here I sit, I think They are useful!

"... It is mainly used the inner, milky part of the bamboo bark, called tabashir (" bamboo manna "), as it is one of the richest natural sources silicic acid... Thanks to this, tabashir prevents the formation of stones in the gallbladder and kidneys. In addition, bamboo contains a large amount of mucopolysaccharides and proteolytic enzymes. It is also used as a bronchodilator and expectorant. Tabashir (“bamboo manna”) eliminates inflammatory processes in the respiratory system, strengthens and rejuvenates the pulmonary system. "

"... They write that young bamboo shoots contain a lot of silicic acid (H2SiO3), which is necessary to maintain the normal condition of hair, skin and bones, and which has a soothing effect on depression."

Sorry for a long post, but you, Romochka, are to blame, pushed ...

Nagira, perhaps this is so, if you use fresh bamboo sprouts And if "tasteless soap", then it is not very pleasant to eat, and then vitamins in canned form, perhaps no longer

For your information: I bought a bank for 105 rubles, in the department of oriental products.

Well, Tatyana, it cannot be so hopeless ... I don’t know about vitamins ... but silicic acid is not a vitamin and is slightly soluble in water, so there is still hope to get it even from “soap”.
This is me for buying a jar ...

This is me for buying a jar ...

Ira, I really want to hear your opinion on the taste of bamboo sprouts

I read on the internet that sprouts are used for making soups, first courses, but I don't see any desire for myself
I still have two sprouts left in the jar, I will use them urgently for salad, let our bodies be filled with silicon, but I will not buy any more.
