Potato puff pastry

Ingredients

potatoes 200 g
butter or margarine 75gr
flour 150 g
egg 1 PC
caraway 1 tsp
salt 1/2 tsp

Cooking method

  • Peel and boil the potatoes. Cool and grate. Add softened butter, yolk, flour, caraway and salt. Mix everything thoroughly. You should have a soft, elastic dough. Put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • Divide the dough into 16 pieces, roll out each in a thin layer and stack on top of each other. Roll out the result once again with a thickness of about 7 mm. Brush with whipped egg white and sprinkle with some cumin and salt. Cut into squares, place on a greased baking sheet (or lined with baking paper) and bake for about 20 minutes until browned.

Note

The cookies are very tasty, although they are made from very simple products! Flaky, crunchy, soft, salty, with caraway flavor! Suitable for soup, and coffee, and beer. For lovers of savory puff pastries, it's a godsend. Cumin can be replaced with sesame seeds.
