Chicken Pastizio Casserole

Ingredients

pasta (tubular pasta) # 2 250 gr.
an egg 1
salt pepper
grated Gouda cheese 120 g
for the layer:
chicken fillet (cut very very, very finely) 600 gr.
olive oil 3 tbsp. l.
small onion (grate)
fleshy red pepper (cut very very, very finely) 150 gr.
puréed peeled tomato pulp 150 gr.
cream (fat content does not matter) 70 gr.
salt. pepper
for cream bechamel:
milk 500 ml
flour 3 tbsp. l.
butter 40 gr.
eggs (large) 3
grated Gouda cheese (any of your favorites) 80 gr.
Grease a heat-resistant form 30x25 cm with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
salt. pepper, ground nutmeg

Cooking method

  • One of the most beloved by me and my loved ones Greek dishes. I can say with certainty - it's very tasty!
  • interlayer:
  • grate the onion and boil it in a small amount of water to remove the pungent smell and taste.
  • add oil, pepper and tomatoes to the onion, simmer slightly and add fillet, knead well with a fork so that there are no lumps, simmer for 5-7 minutes, add cream and simmer until all the liquid has evaporated.
  • Boil pasta, as indicated on the package, put it in a colander, rinse with cold running water to stop the cooking process.
  • Beat the egg with salt and pepper, add to the pasta and shake the pan to mix.
  • line half of the pasta on the bottom of the form, in a beautiful even layer - pasta to the pasta and sprinkle with half the amount (60 gr.) of cheese.
  • top with a layer of chicken fillet. tamp it on the surface of the pasta.
  • cover with the remaining pasta (just like the bottom layer) and sprinkle with the remaining (60 g) cheese.
  • cream bechamel:
  • in a deep saucepan, heat the oil well and fry the flour in it, stirring constantly so that there are no lumps, pour in hot milk, stirring with a whisk and brew, the cream is ready - the appearance of bubbling bubbles, remove from heat and cool slightly.
  • stir in eggs one at a time, season with salt and pepper, add nutmeg and cheese (80 g), mix well and pour over the entire surface of the casserole.
  • bake in an oven preheated to 180-190 "for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • slightly cool the prepared casserole, cut into portions and serve immediately.
