Green cubes or prepare the sleigh in summer

Ingredients

for 6 butter cubes and 6 olive oil cubes / option for those. who is fasting /
a bunch of parsley
a bunch of dill
butter at room temperature 60 gr.
olive oil 60 ml.
ice mold

Cooking method

  • Not very troublesome. but how great. After all, not always and not everywhere you can buy fresh herbs in winter! but what a beauty - added a cube to the potatoes and enjoy the summer aroma! this is how you can freeze your favorite mint greens. basil, etc .... try it!
  • Rinse the greens well and let the water drain.
  • cut in small pieces. preferably only leaves. the stems can be simply frozen in cellophane and used to boil broths.
  • divide the greens in half and add sl. oil. the other is olive. mix thoroughly. add olive oil if necessary. straight into the molds. so that there are no voids.
  • place in ice trays and freeze.
  • the olive oil must be of good quality and take into account. that it freezes longer. than creamy.
  • cubes can be stored in molds. especially olive. and from butter - in food cellophane bags. of course in the freezer.
  • P.S. I saw in the net many options for freezing in water. but in oil I like it more. and more practical. preserves the greens themselves better and you cannot always add greens with water to the dish.

The dish is designed for

12 cubes

Why freeze out with butter? I freeze separately and the dill and parsley are really washed and well dried and finely chopped without any liquid.
natapit
with oil, greens retain their color and properties better. and also a very convenient dosage!
Vitalinka
A very good idea for freezing with oil. I will definitely do it! Thank you !
natapit
and thank you! I will be glad if it comes in handy!
Gael
Thanks for the idea! How long can it be stored?

natapit, thanks! It's a good idea to freeze the cubes with butter. So it is easier to shove greens into molds, well, but in the sense of preserving the aroma - so here the logic is iron - essential oils do not evaporate. Efcharisto.
natapit
Gael... in the freezer for a very long time!

Then it is better to freeze it with olive oil, since the butter in the freezer ages over time. Especially if you use greens in the spring. Or part with creamy and part with olive. And use the creamy cubes first.
natapit
and I suggest so!

Why freeze out with butter?
And then cut the cubes into 3-4 pieces and put on a fried entrecote, for example ... Or in boiled potatoes. You can also squeeze the garlic into the oil with herbs. You will get the same oil with herbs, which is sold in supermarkets for terrible money. But it is better a hundred times, because more alive
natapit , thanks for the idea! I will certainly put on a couple of molds.
Klimola
Well this is necessary !!! What people can't think of !!! True, live and learn !!!
Cool idea, I will definitely try !!!
natapit , Thank you!!!
natapit

Ikra and Klimola! thank you very much!

such a nice idea! I'm pulling it out to the surface! And, girls, tell me, did you use it in winter? What are the conclusions? Add / subtract what?
Ikra
I use it in the summer. I was made happy here with a large Ashanovsky package of dill. I added some of them, and I dried and frozen the rest. Some went in conjunction with butter True, I froze it with a bar, I cut it off as needed. Right now, with young potatoes, it's going great!
Thanks to the author again for the recipe!
LightTatiana
Thank you!
Have you tried other greens like this? Basil....
Ikra
And, in my opinion, so any greens can be, whatever you like. Basil will most likely be good with olive oil.
In large supermarkets, the same round bars of imported terribly expensive oil are sold, there are all kinds of herbs + garlic. For entrecotes, baked shells and other culinary delights, where butter is put.
LightTatiana
Thank you!
I went to buy herbs ... I love this business ...
natapit
Irina, thanks for answering!

Natasha, thank you! I was just impressed by this recipe, so I am promoting it as much as I can. True, it's delicious!
Even just for bread, fresh, your own, a little warm ... M-mmmm! Yesterday dill oil with chala ... Disgrace, of course, but terribly tasty: warm crumb and ice-cold butter.

Thanks for the idea with oil, but I like greens more, just freeze them without any fillings ... At least - with water - it's just awful !!!!

And what is the horror for you?

Well, I didn't like it .. it feels like the water "sucked-sucked-absorbed" all the smells of the freezer into itself, despite the fact that the greens were packed in tight containers (((
LightTatiana
I did, froze in a day. Such nice cubes - dill, basil. I also set the cilantro and parsley to freeze. I know that cilantro is not dried, but I have not heard about freezing - I decided to try it (I love it)

NatashaThank you for the recipe! I froze cubes with different green tea for a sample, I had to buy more molds
Merri
Oh, how I am in time! I liked Natasha's idea very much! Thank you! I'll do it for trial.
Natasha, does the olive oil freeze completely in the freezer? I thought that vegetable oil only thickens.
natapit
thanks, glad it comes in handy! the olive oil freezes completely!

Thank you Natasha for the advice! I thought it would freeze for a week.

I will raise the recipe, because autumn is the time to freeze.

I have never frozen greens like that before. Or without butter, or with butter. Must try with olive.
