Fast croissants with cheese

Ingredients

Flour 450 g
Baking powder 1 tbsp. l.
Salt 0.5 tsp
Sl. oil 50 g
Milk 150 ml
Cheese (cheddar) 100 g
Lubricating egg 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • 1. Grind butter with flour, baking powder and salt until fine bread crumbs.
  • 2. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and add to the dough. Mix.
  • 3. Pour milk into the dough in portions. The dough should turn out to be dense and elastic (I didn’t have enough milk and a couple of times in the process of kneading the dough I moistened my hands with cold water).
  • 4. Divide the dough into two parts and roll out circles with a diameter of 20 cm. Cut each circle into eight wedges (I was afraid that such a dense dough would not bake with such a thickness of the wedges, so the diameter of the circle I had was about 30 cm, and I divided the dough into six parts and rolled it out thinly).
  • 5. Roll the wedges into tubes starting from the edge to the center. Shape the straws into a crescent shape and place them on a greased sheet.
  • 6. Grease the blanks with a beaten egg.
  • 7. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • A recipe for people like me, who are horrified by the thought of making puff pastry, but want croissants !!! For lovers of saltier - advice: add salt to your taste The cheese I had was "Russian".
  • The croissants turned out to be small, but very cute!
