Hand mills are good if you want to immerse yourself in the grinding process, live and experience the birth of flour, the rebirth of the grain.

Children are good such mills. Not just pressed the button and everything is done by itself, but you need to make efforts, work, that is, again, survive!
And then some children, as in a joke, think that flour is taken from the store
Still such mills live in kindergartens. The children themselves grind the grain and, together with the educators, prepare bread or cookies from flour. Here, for educational reasons, such mills are good, in which millstones are visible.

Hand mills
On the journey a compact and lightweight mill designed specifically for this may come in handy. Also suitable for small grinding volumes.

Hand mills
Lack of electricity or interruptions with it is also a good reason to buy a hand mill.
Millstones most hand mills are made of stone. It is naxos-basalt, the binder is magnesite.

Hand mills

Grinding degree adjustable for all mills smoothly.
This makes it possible to obtain not only the finest whole grain flour for bread, but also coarse grits for cereals.

Housing most mills are made of wood and treated with hard wax or natural oil for long-term protection. No special care is required.

Performance mills are different.
This is expressed in the rate of grain grinding in grams per minute. Depends on the size of the mill and millstones, on the degree of grind, on your efforts and on what you grind.

Hand mills will handle any dry grain except corn (maize).

And only two hand mills are capable of processing corn: Diamant D 525 and Hawos Rotare

Oily grains and plants

Oil-containing crops such as nuts, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, mustard, etc. can only be grinded using mills or grain mills with metal rollers or millstones. In our shop these are the Jupiter mill, Messerschmidt, Diamant D 525 and grain mills.

Millstones are quickly clogged with such crops, however any of the mills shown here can grind small amounts of these cereals mixed with grain or rice.

Combined mills and grinders - two in one!

Hand mills

The handheld Luba Duo and the electric Waldner Biotech Combi-Star combine the functions of a home mill and a grain mill.

Stone millstones and steel rollers. Two grain inlets and two outlets.

I myself saw and used the Kornkraft Farina mill. This one is in the kindergarten where my son goes. Children are delighted! I think later to buy one for myself, so that it would be more interesting for children to participate in the preparation of a festive pie or morning porridge.
Wildebeest
Miller, I understand that you have opened the topic of hand mills for coarse flour. And I was going to buy a manual coffee mill, because I found out that coffee beans heat up during grinding in electric mills and this degrades the quality of the drink. The market for manual coffee grinders is very large, can you give me any advice on mechanical coffee grinders? For example, what to look for.
While I looked at one with cast iron millstones and a wooden base for ground coffee.

can you give me any advice on mechanical coffee grinders?

I'll try to answer what I know
There are coffee mills with stone millstones. The point is that the conventional hand-held bean grinders that I am writing about are not suitable for coffee because of the shape and size of the bean. Coffee needs a different form of millstone.
And such a special coffee mill with stone millstones was created by German manufacturers quite recently.
I can't say about cast-iron millstones. And I myself would choose with stone - I do not want the grains to come into contact with the metal.
But I drink green tea

Of course, the prices in your store are impressive .... You could, of course, take it on the Baltic (apparently, the same people, only delivery from abroad).

I had to order in Germany, where, for example, Kornkraft Mulino costs 20 euros cheaper than a flour mill.

In March of this year, I also ordered the Kornkraft farina mill from Germany. Price with delivery is almost 2 times cheaper!

And thanks to the store for the videos. PRICES, of course, need to be reduced. Not everyone lives in Moscow and not everyone can buy a simple mill for 10 thousand rubles)))

The prices of the mills are of course awesome (this is the most cultural commentary). Maybe someone knows what is simpler and cheaper?
For example, the same millstone coffee grinders or conventional coffee grinders. The degree of grinding they certainly do not give the correct one, but still 1-3 thousand rubles. it is not 75 euros.
