Beef with gooseberry

Ingredients

Beef 1 kg
Gooseberry 150-200 g
salt, pepper, sugar taste

Cooking method

  • Summer ... The gooseberries are ripe ... This wonderful berry is perfect as an addition to meat or chicken.
  • Cut the beef flesh into large pieces about 1 cm thick and the size of a third of a woman's palm. Cut the onion into half rings. Fry pieces of meat on high heat on both sides, 2-3 minutes on each side. Salt and pepper the meat, transfer to a cauldron or deep frying pan. Fry the onion, fold it over the meat. Pour in about 250 ml glass of gooseberries. Spread it evenly over the meat. Pour boiling water or broth on top so that the meat protrudes slightly. Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer with the lid closed over low heat for about an hour and a half until the meat is tender. During the cooking process, we try the sauce. If the gooseberries are sour, add sugar to taste.
