It is very interesting, but when this carousel is pulled out, then things can fly off, it is not very stable, although it may also depend on the manufacturer.
an_domini
I would like to speak out in defense of the carousel. For the first time I came across such a design of a corner cabinet in the early 60s. We moved into a house built and decorated by the Finns in 1958. It's funny that the apartments were intended for separate families, but they were made communal as usual. The huge 7-storey building had one separate director's apartment. These apartments had a lot of novelties: a warm stone floor in the bathroom, a garbage chute in the kitchen and Finnish kitchen furniture, including a double stainless steel sink, a drying cabinet above it and a double carousel - a lower corner cabinet and a second corner carousel cabinet on top. It was our family who got these merry-go-rounds during the communal division. They had wooden (plywood) shelves and solid bent plywood boards. Cool thing! Nothing ever flew. When in 1980. I already saw a Polish one with the same carousel below, bought it right away, although at that time it was expensive, and people had just started buying small domestic kitchen sets of 3 items. The neighbors in the new house were amazed, but my mother, seeing the carousel and immediately remembering that Finnish cuisine in a communal apartment, approved it despite the price (more precisely, it was the carousel that convinced her). I still have this kitchen. The shelves in it are also made of wood, and the sides are plastic. Of course, if these are stainless steel rods, then you need to think about strength and reliability, the conclusion: look for a carousel of the correct execution.
fugaska
and I about the carousel, can you say a few words? we had (and actually it is, only we pulled it into the garage) a similar design - a corner cabinet, but it opens in the center and the whole carousel rotates 360 degrees accordingly. in short, a very inconvenient design, and precisely because everything usually falls from there, after all, you put a lot of junk into rarely used places, and for some reason it is always of various sizes and very inconvenient for storage. in short, our "carousel" has been living in the garage for a long time, although the drawer is quite roomy, and the tabletop is very comfortable ... it was ...
an_domini
So I say that you need to look for a good model (if necessary, of course). The Finnish one turned 270, the Polish one 180 degrees, nothing fell or falls. The quality and reliability of products, as well as in clothes and other goods, determines everything. The point of the carousel is precisely that all things are easily accessible, all that is worthwhile is just for use, and not for storing unnecessary things. For this mezzanine ..

: - \ The carousel is good for the bottom shelf, but I have an upper corner one. Already designing additional. to make shelves in it, because there are only 2 shelves in this whopper. AG, an electric meat grinder, etc. have already been there. But as soon as something is needed then ... And I want it to be orderly and convenient to get. : '(After all, how I began to "flutter" with you so I pay attention to everything. I have TW dishes there now, and when what kind of bowl will I need? there this department (with devices for kitchen furniture.) Thank you all for the answers, as I think of, I will share.

Well, I don’t know what to think. Is an apron complete with a spray good, or is it also possible separately? I still have a painted wall instead of an apron (though with good washable paint, but still this is not an option for permanent use), so my husband and I argue - I want a mosaic, but he wants to put 60x60 porcelain stoneware, so that there are fewer seams to clean
dopleta
Chantal,

And about the apron - what kind of stove do you have? I have an electric one, there is much less dirt from it, it has been tested on my own many years of experience with gas. And now there are a lot of sprays, including high-quality ones. Well, if your husband cares so much about your hands, then maybe you should meet him halfway and agree to porcelain stoneware? (But it must also be wiped thoroughly so that there are no streaks - the mosaic is small, and streaks are not visible on it at all.)
Chantal
dopleta, the gas stove, after many years of communication with the electric stove, left the electric only the oven, the husband cares more about himself, because his honorable duty is to wash the stove and what is nearby

about the mosaic: we bought a cool mother-of-pearl mosaic 2 years ago, all so beautiful in the kitchen for an apron, but I just didn't dare to put it, because in fact it's not practical (now I'm very glad) Seams where there will be a stove and the sink will eventually look not at all beautiful (they are rubbed very much, and no grouting does not save) And the mosaic was attached to the bathroom in niches Forgive me something, I probably not in Temka

This is my first serious experience in making furniture on my own. The whole kitchen with appliances cost me 13 thousand hryvnyas (about one and a half thousand ye). Of these, the actual furniture - 5 thousand UAH. (600 ye). Kitchen 8 sq. m. Sockets hidden in the backlight.

No comment! There is only one order (you will be like Lisss... or how to rumble Brezhnev)
Just one little tip ... or two (well, if you're interested)

1. Make a cornice on top. You can add all kinds of nonsense behind it;
2. Bottom - shelves sliding on rollers. Height 10 cm, but ...

Well, or is it me with my 4.5 sq. a meter kitchen I save every centimeter.

Why is it so clean? Don't you let your spouse go there?
Jefry
The design was originally determined by the wife. We walked through furniture salons, found the kitchen that we liked the most and "danced" from it. And the requirement was: no visors, base, etc. All wishes of the "customer" have been taken into account.
This cleanliness is because the moment between the past and the future is captured: before the arrival of guests, they put everything in perfect order, took a picture and began to cook. Now there is quite a normal working disorder ...
I've been thinking, but where did I get the idea to make the kitchen myself? I understand that in the end it turned out better and cheaper, but it was easier to earn money by doing what I studied and buy ready-made. And suddenly I realized that my legs grow FROM THE BAKERY !!!! (specifically the device and the site in particular). At first I was not satisfied with the purchased bread - we make our own tasty, inedible sausage - the ham maker drives. Further - more: yogurt, ice cream, marmalade, marshmallow, biscuit roll, cakes, breathtaking in beauty and taste ... This is already a kind of revolution of consciousness ...

I have extensive experience in moving, and therefore kitchen cabinets The most practical and economical were up to the ceiling (or rather from the ceiling?). Everything that was needed in rare cases was stored on the upper shelves, since you simply could not reach it with an outstretched hand. By the way, it's good to hide from children there
No dust. The place is all used to the maximum and, in my opinion, is more aesthetically pleasing than with the junk on the roof of the cabinets.

I agree 100%! Seven major moves in ten years taught me this! I am also building a kitchen now. It's too early to brag. The epic has already lasted so long! First, they threw us with the ordered kitchen - we made 50% of the prepayment and the kitchen should have been made for us back in May, but ... The office simply disappeared along with our money. We never found them. And to fit into the remaining money, they decided themselves (and my husband also lost his job at that moment). In general, we were steaming ... My husband drew the project in the AutoCAD, the color was chosen for an awesomely long time (because I didn't want what they tried to order from these crooks, so as not to torment the memories of how they deceived us). Finally, we have a complete set of Big Designer For Men (sawn boards, facades, accessories - all bought)! The assembly has begun! It is clear that collecting on weekends will take a long time, maybe even until April it will take too long ... but still! I will definitely post pictures of my new kitchen later!
Jefry, well done! Beautiful cuisine! Although not high (not to the ceiling), but maybe you don't need this - what's the point of arguing? My kitchen will definitely be under the ceiling, because I technically need it.

It is easy to say when the ceilings are not high, but if they go off scale for 3 meters !!! Then the lockers I would have turned out to be 1.5 m.So I have to take everything into account (I hope I have furniture in March)

IMHO, but in a small kitchen, cabinets under the ceiling still reduce the space, that is, they do not look like cabinets, but like walls with the convenience of hiding something behind them Therefore, on such tiny ones like Hairpins they are unacceptable, IMHO, IMHO

I have the same ceilings. In this case, a stepladder stool made "for the kitchen" is very convenient. A beautiful stool stands at the wall, does not bother anyone. And when you need to climb under the ceiling - it unfolds in a stirrup. Jefry, well done! We are tired of waiting, but the result is worth it!

I mean, hasn't the kitchen become smaller with cabinets to the ceiling? it seems to me the opposite
Jefry
Thank you very much for your kind words!
It seems that a conflict may be brewing here, I really would not like it. All markers are different in taste and color. My wife has the size of an inch, for her the upper tier of these lockers is only with my help (I use it for personal gain) or from a highchair. You will also need to think about the ladder.I have seen options with cabinets under the ceiling, but these are custom-made facades that greatly increase the cost (even these are two-thirds of the cost). As for the extra space - for some reason, the words from "The Inspector General" come to mind, about a fence, behind which a heap of garbage immediately appears. And as soon as a closed hard-to-reach space appears, things that have not been in demand for years are bred in it (IMHO). As for soot and grease: I recently learned that sticking a hood into the ventilation duct is fundamentally wrong and contrary to SNiPs. So you can turn it on only at the lowest speed and there is very little sense from it. So I'm thinking of how to make a hole in the outer wall of the building for the hood. Maybe then there will be less soot. In the meantime, as a temporary measure, I stuck cling film on all invisible surfaces, let it be covered with fat.
Here are some advertising and theoretical calculations about the correct construction of the kitchen:

I have a ceiling height of 2.5 m - we ordered standard facades (about 90 cm - so that 7-8 centimeters remain to the ceiling, just on the cornice) from the Sidak factory. And you, as I understand it, have standard facades of about 70cm. There are many standard ones.

This is in theory, but in practice everyone does this, and as a result, the natural ventilation in the house still does not work. And if you do not close the outlet with a hood (preferably with a valve against the reverse air flow), you will be fully informed about what the neighbors are cooking. We didn’t put the valve on right away; I don’t observe a greasy deposit on the tops. And to bring it out, there are pitfalls (cold air from the street and "aromas" right under the nose of neighbors from above, etc.) I was stopped by the fact that we had a loggia in our kitchen and had to be pulled out through the loggia. .. spoil the look of the glazing. As a result, we abandoned the idea and do not regret it

There are many standard ones.
I agree, there is a table of standard facades, there are ones longer than 710 mm, but we make them on order and the lead time is almost a month. And these sizes are the most popular and were bought at Epicenter (building materials supermarket). Before doing the project, I went there and rewrote the dimensions of the facades available. And they were purchased during the year for two or three as the receipt of "off-budget" funds. According to the original design, the top was also supposed to be completely dark ("wenge oak" color). But on the advice of experienced designers, it was decided to visually lighten the top.
Quote: k.alena

This is in theory
I have a first floor, so only I can inform the neighbors, but the hood at the first speed barely holds the piece of paper (if you also open the window). And at the maximum from it only the rumble is worth. My friends have an expensive hood in a private house, so at second speed the pancakes must be carefully turned over, otherwise they will attract. That's what I understand efficiency! And there is no noise. And mine begins to rumble only when you tuck in your sleeve ...
k.alena
Jefry , about the theory, I meant that it is impossible in vent. channel. And on the street or in the canal, so it is clear that the street is more efficient
yulichka
So I'm thinking of how to make a hole in the outer wall of the building for the hood. Maybe then there will be less soot

Jefry, be careful with the output! In our country, the installation of equipment with an outlet to the external wall is allowed only with the written consent of the neighbors from above (although this applies to columns and boilers, but where is the guarantee that there is no nasty neighbor who will start digging and disassembly with different organizations is then provided). Maybe you should call the stove-maker and clean the ventilation duct well?
Jefry

but where is the guarantee that there will not be a nasty neighbor who will start digging and showdowns with different organizations are then provided).
I know there is such a neighbor living above my sister. She added to the fact that a commission from the executive committee came, checked the apartments in the riser and gave everyone an order to dismantle the hoods! After this insanity, I climbed to flip through SNiP, it turned out yes! Only possible if there is a separate exhaust duct. And if the room is gasified, then forced air removal is allowed only in conjunction with forced supply.

I would love to have lockers under the ceiling ... This is so much space! Closed! And not for trash, but for rarely used dishes - a large table set, Easter forms and plates, New Year's vases-cups, most of the glasses, etc. One fig - I can't even reach the standard ones on the upper shelf, only to the middle of the second shelf, therefore, the chair-chair-step-ladder is constantly, throughout the apartment.
the hood is brought into ventilation, two check valves. A4 sheet normally holds even at 1 speed (the windows are all closed), I just checked))) I do not smell smells from the neighbors.

On the territory of the Russian Federation, emissions with harmful and unpleasant odors should be carried out 2 meters above the roof of the building. Moreover, if there are higher buildings nearby (it seems, at a distance of 10 meters), then they are 2 meters higher than the roof of these buildings. Emissions from bathrooms and kitchens refer to emissions from unpleasant buildings. Translating into Russian, the air of smoking fish is thrown out from the first floor and enters the windows of the second floor, and not only the kitchen, but also the living room ...
And as for the small exhaust axial fans installed in the shafts of the lower floors, this leads to the overflow of these emissions to the higher apartments ...
Jeffrey, if you only had problems with the need for inflow, then you could install an axial fan in the window / wall of the next room, and it would be a mechanical inflow ...

Hello everyone! We recently completed renovations in the hall (aka bedroom and study). And after we made the system of wardrobes ourselves, we decided that we could make the furniture for the kitchen ourselves. True, it won't be soon, but there is time for a detailed study of the concept and functionality. And here Jefry with his homemade product (in the best way). When they were going to make cabinets, the husband said: "It is not the gods who burn the pots!" and he was right. Now my daughter and I are starting to study information about kitchens.

I once rummaged through a rental directory. I look at the parameters of the apartment and see the kitchen area - 4 sq. meters. I was in shock.
I came home and began to measure these 4 square meters. m in your kitchen and figure out what you can fit on them. You can fit a dusty 4-burner stove and a utility table, in the corner a garbage bin. But, when I had to bend over to the oven, then I would open the door with my booty.
