Stewed mackerel (as in canned food)

Ingredients

Small mackerel 2 pcs
large carrots 1 PC
bulb onions 1 PC
Bay leaf 4-5 pcs
allspice 20-25 pcs
salt 1 tablespoon
lemon
ground black pepper
vegetable oil 0.5 cups

Cooking method

  • We clean the mackerel, cut off the head.
  • Cut into pieces, about 3 cm each
  • We cut the carrots, not finely, about 1 cm - put into the pan
  • Chop two onions - put in a saucepan
  • Add more carrots. She will add more flavor
  • Add some bay leaves
  • We put a few peas of allspice.
  • Pour one (without a slide) tablespoon of coarse salt.
  • Place a layer of thin lemon slices. (3-4 very thin circles)
  • Add half a teaspoon of ground black pepper.
  • Place fish slices on top of the lemon.
  • Pour half a glass of oil and water on top so that it slightly covers the fish.
  • We put the pan on fire. Cover with a lid and cook on a very low heat for 2-3 hours.
  • From time to time we check if too much water has boiled away. And add it as needed.
  • The fish is so boiled that its bones become soft like canned saury
  • Good luck and bon appetit.

Note

In the description of the recipe, it was stated that the finished dish was sooooo reminiscent of saury and even tastier.
Well what can I say? Apparently, the author of the recipe did not have a chance to try the present canned saury in its own juice with the addition of oil.
The mackerel turned out to be delicious, we had dinner with pleasure. But it's still mackerel

Cookies recipe.

Yes, I cooked in a cartoon, stewing for 3 hours. The cartoon turned off in the middle of the night and stood on heating until morning. Naturally, I did not add water. So I had mackerel in my own juice.

You must definitely try to cook such a yummy !!!!

celfh Tan, were the bones really soft in three hours ??? A very interesting recipe! I'll try in the cartoon! I once cooked such a fish on a gas stove, but I stewed for six hours to get soft bones.

BlackHairedGirl, so it also took about four hours to warm up. And what if the bones were even softer, you can stew for longer, who's in the way?
Lemon gives a pleasant aroma and flavor. I have never tried adding it to recipes like this before.

Tanyush, I am a mackerel with canned food many times already (so many that I lost count) I always cooked according to Lenochka's recipe... I also cook in the cartoon, put it on "Stew" for the whole night (6-7 hours). Mine just melt. Next time I am going to prepare canned food, I will definitely use your recipe, thank you very much!
lenchikflor
Thanks to Tatiana for the recipe! I cooked it in a saucepan, made a couple of conclusions: you don't need oil at all, or just grease the bottom, since the mackerel itself is very oily, well, and less water. And so +100 !!!!!

lenchikflor, to your health!

I love fish, I want to try. I read the recipe, there are ambiguities: it is not clear how much onion is needed, the recipe indicates 1 piece, and in the description "cut two onions", also with carrots - first cut, and then add again?

Yesterday I cooked it.Delicious! I did it in a slow cooker, set it for 4 hours without heating. The bones are soft, the fish is juicy and tasty. We will unambiguously repeat.

Tanyusha! I am very glad that I liked the fish! And at the same time, thanks for reminding me of the recipe

It's like recently Rinishek asked for a recipe for the meringue seen in the photo, and this was according to her recipe?

Tanya, did not understand: fish according to her recipe?

Meringue ... In some topic, after something, someone disposed of proteins in the form of meringues. The photo was attached and Rinisek asked for the recipe. Well, she was given a link to the recipe, laid out by her own hands. So I reminded here ...

Maybe you should clarify the ingredients?

Maybe you should clarify the ingredients?
Necessarily! I did not see your previous request, otherwise I would have tried to correct my mistake.
There are two onions, and one carrot, more than average. Part of the chopped carrots on the bottom and the other part on top of the onions. To be honest, I do not really follow the rules of the author of the recipe, I put carrots without dividing, and I put onions in different ways, when one large onion, when a couple of medium ones. And sometimes I fry the onions and carrots separately :))

Well, those times - it is worth turning away, and they already giggle, laugh!
Well, I forgot, yes ... what can you do, shklerozh

The question is off topic, sorry. Is it just that they turned off the program after the program, or do you exhibit without heating?
