Cooking method

  • Cut the onion into slices, fry in 1 tablespoon of butter. Place in a greased form. Season the herring with salt and pepper, sprinkle with dill. Roll the pieces of herring skin-side up and place over the onion. For the sauce, whisk the butter with mustard, salt, sugar and vinegar. Pour the sauce over the herring and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes at 250 degrees, until the surface of the fish is lightly browned. For garnish - boiled potatoes.

I cooked this dish with different fish (pelengas, trout), but herring fillet tastes like nothing else! I didn't take spicy mustard, vinegar and mustard - I used half the norm (we don't like spicy dishes) - it turned out great! Everyone really likes this original recipe, an unexpected combination of dill, bread crumbs (I cooked them like this: I dried bread in toast and chopped finely). Hope you like it too. The recipe was taken from the book of the "Million Menus" series "Enjoy the taste" edition of 2009. Sorry for the lack of photos.

Sorry, I did not specify the ingredients (the first pancake is lumpy). I'll fix it now !!!!! Herring fillet - 1kg; onions - 3 heads; butter - 2 tbsp. spoons. For the sauce: mustard - 2-3 tbsp. spoons; vinegar 3% - 50 grams; vegetable oil - 100g.; sugar - 40 grams; chopped dill greens - 4 tbsp. spoons; bread crumbs - 2-3 tbsp. spoons; ground black pepper and salt - to taste.

That's just a herring and dumb. There are rarely recipes with fried or baked herring, but the recipe should be great.
