Ingredients

Dry yeast 1.5 tsp
Wheat flour 500g
Milk 200 ml
Warm water 100ml
Egg 1 PC
Sugar 2 tbsp. l
Butter 50 g
Salt 0.5 tsp

Cooking method

  • We heat the milk to about 40-45 degrees, dissolve sugar and yeast in it. Leave for 10 minutes, until a "cap" appears on the milk. Mix the flour with salt with a yeast mixture, water, separately mix the melted butter and add the egg to the flour and knead the smooth elastic dough.



  • We put it in a warm place to come up - the dough should double in size. When it comes up, crush it and form our loaf of bread, put it on a baking sheet covered with parchment and let it come up a second time for about 40 minutes.

  • Before baking, grease with yolk and water, and put in the oven at 200 C for 10 minutes, until golden brown, then make the temperature 160 - 170 C and bake for another 20 minutes.

Easy to make bread, the dough rose very well in 2 proofings. It bubbled nicely when molded, obedient. It rose well during baking. I decided to bake a whole loaf and it turned out to be such a huge bread.

True, adding everything exactly according to the recipe, I turned out to be a very thin dough, I had to add 160 g to the kolobok. I do not exclude, of course, that the reason is in my flour (I started using another right now, maybe it contains a lot of moisture). But it seems to me that for 500 g of flour you need less liquid, especially taking into account the egg (the egg was small).

But the dough can be either a little softer or a little tight - everything is within the limits of the norm and desire, but the baking will be different in height and time
And you need to decide what kind of product you want to get: tall bread, flat bread such as ciabatta, loaf, etc. - here the thickness of the dough also plays a role.
