And apricots cannot be thawed, they immediately darken and turn into porridge.
So I suspected something like that, it's good that they warned!

Admin, have you tried to cut apricots finer?
I plan to add them raw to yogurt later, and the halves are large in my opinion, and they will take longer to defrost. For a test, I cut the strongest ones into smaller pieces, each half into four more pieces. In this form, they take up less space in the freezer, and the halves are not so compact.

Galya, apparently you need to go through it yourself and see how the defrosted apricots will look. Try to do this on at least 1 piece and see for yourself.

I never defrost apricots !!!

How do I:
- before putting in a saucepan with cereals, I cut frozen apricots into several parts (if they are large), and then cook porridge. It is important to place the apricots in water immediately before defrosting.
- if in yogurt, then I chop finely frozen apricots, and put them in yogurt, and let stand for a while so that the fruits are defrosted in the milk.
- if the drink is compote-jelly, I also put frozen apricots in water and then put it on the fire to brew the drink.
- if jam, then freeze the apricots in syrup and then cook.

For my taste and experience, it is better to freeze apricots in half, pitted. Then it is better for them to preserve their appearance and texture during storage, do not crumble, do not flow, do not freeze in the package.
And you can always cut them for cooking easily with a knife on the board - no problem.

Yeah, just at first it is necessary to defrost them, because they are stone and will not take any knife, and the defrosted ones turn into porridge.
I will do all sorts of different things, completely flimsy for jam, freeze soft in halves, and those that are harder to freeze cut into eighths.
Some apricots were hard, with green, I was going to freeze them whole for compote, but they lay down and came, turned yellow and soft.

for they are stone and no knife will take

If you put them on a board and let them lie down for 2-3 minutes, the apricots are perfectly cut into pieces of any size with an ordinary kitchen knife - it has been verified by my own experience, since I do this procedure in the winter almost every day, putting apricots in porridge
In 2-3 minutes they will become a little softer, they will only move slightly, but they will not soften and will not turn into porridge.

Admin, Tanyusha,I would have seen a little earlier a couple of days ago, I was thinking where to attach the remnants of my first crop of apricots: I wanted ripe ones, but they overripe very quickly, and even large ones, I cut 5-6 cm into quarters, but since the overripe ones are probably only suitable for compote or pie
