Barley naval in a Panasonic multicooker

Ingredients

1 tbsp = 300 ml
500 gr minced meat, any. I used coarsely ground pork.
1 tbsp of pearl barley
2.5 tbsp of water (for a multicooker or 3.5 tbsp for cooking on the stove)
salt
1 bunch green onions or other greens
2 tbsp butter (vegetable / butter)

Cooking method

  • In a slow cooker.
  • Fry the minced meat in the BAKING mode, add cereals, oil, salt, pour water. Cook on the PLOV mode. After the signal, open, stir and let stand for another 5 minutes
  • On the stove
  • Rinse the groats in 2-3 waters, pour boiling water over and cover with a lid. Let stand for 10-15 minutes. Chop the greens. In a saucepan with a thick bottom or in a pan, fry the minced meat until tender, stirring vigorously. At the end, add herbs and fry for about 1 minute. Throw the groats in a colander.
  • Transfer the minced meat to a saucepan, if fried in a pan, add cereals, water, butter / vegetable oil. Bring to a boil, season with salt, reduce heat and simmer under a lid until cereal is cooked.

And today I cook barley in the Navy in MV. The recipe stuck, I cook it 3 times. Thanks again!
The husband at dinner very much praised this porridge today, but he did not recognize barley at all (in the Army, poor fellow, he ate too much)

Lika, thanks for the idea. Even before the multicooker appeared, I was preparing barley with fried onions and carrots in pots (m-yum!), And then I began to cook in mulk. And then I came across your idea with naval barley and my beloved porridge survived another reincarnation! Only I soak the pearl barley for a long time - overnight, then boil it and put it in a cartoon to stew for 1.5 hours. Perhaps these are just unnecessary operations, but I just share my way

Ru, to your health!Barley naval in a Panasonic multicooker
With barley, we went through all the methods of cooking and preparation. It turned out that the usual pouring with boiling water is the most convenient way to prepare cereals for cooking. And with the very process of cooking the cartoon, it copes well without preliminary boiling on the stove.
Still very tasty is Barlovka with onions "Creamy", also in a multicooker, but on the buckwheat mode.
