Corn tortillas-chips

Ingredients

1 tbsp = 250 ml
200 grams of finely ground corn flour (not polenta)
1/2 cup mineral water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3-4 tbsp wheat flour
3-4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
any dry spices and herbs
I used 2 teaspoons of cumin and 1 teaspoon of chana masala (ready-made pea mix)

Cooking method

  • Mix flour, spices, salt, baking powder. Bring water and oil to a boil and quickly knead an elastic dough. Add more wheat flour if necessary. Let stand for ~ 15 minutes.
  • Pinch off a piece of dough = walnut, roll into a ball and knead on a baking sheet with your hands into a thin cake (2-3 mm). Chop each cake with a fork. Bake in the oven at 200 about FROM

I just made some scones. My crackers really came out because I rolled them out thinly. But IMHO tastes better.
But it seems to me that there is a clear overkill with salt in the recipe - I put in less than 2 teaspoons and it turned out to be so salty, that it becomes problematic to eat more than 2 pieces at a time, hands reach for a drink or a jam. In general, as for me, 1 tsp. salt is the most THAT.
