How to choose the right thermosIf you stay outdoors for a long time in winter, let it be a walk, fishing or hunting, the piercing cold chills you to your bones. And despite the fact that you are wearing several sweaters or pairs of socks, you gradually freeze .... In such a situation, a sip of hot tea, coffee or soup will be indispensable. Experienced people, leaving the house, do not forget to take a thermos with them. And in order to navigate well in the variety of choices, you first need to clearly understand what you primarily expect from the purchase.

The assortment of shops has thermoses with glass flasks. But, despite the fact that they retain heat well, they can be easily ruined by careless movement. Fortunately, it is not difficult to "replace", since parts are sold in almost every specialized store. But here you need to make sure that the new flask fits the old case. In addition, it does not hurt to pay attention to the fact that the glass container is securely fixed inside and does not dangle.

Usually it has special shock absorbers located at the top and bottom: the rubber gasket of the thermos can "peep out" a little. Having shaken the vessel slightly and not feeling movement inside, one can hope that the flask is well fixed. The most popular are thermoses designed for a liter and a half. They are guaranteed to keep the drink hot for eight or ten hours. By the way, the longer the products keep warm, the longer they are. The smallest will only hold a glass of liquid. These "kids" are suitable for schoolchildren. There are also "pot-bellied" vessels for the first and second meals: their bodies are usually equipped with two bowls for soup and porridge.

How to choose the right thermosThe thermos is also made of stainless steel. Although they are more expensive, they have several advantages. Such products are practical and durable, they will “survive” falling to the ground without any problems and are not afraid of strong impacts on a hard surface. In addition, almost all of these containers are equipped with special dispensers. Therefore, to pour, you do not need to unscrew the lid every time, releasing precious heat. And thanks to new technologies, drinks in steel flasks will stay hot throughout the day.

There are also peculiar hybrids: a metal flask is placed in a plastic case. Their volume: three to four liters. These giants are heated and have an electric pump that lifts tea or coffee to the dispenser.

Before paying money for a thermos, you need to inspect and check it. A strong unpleasant odor in the middle of the container is a sign of poor quality materials. A very important quality indicator is the tightness of the cork. It is better when the neck of the vessel is threaded - then the structure will keep heat longer. For a more thorough check, you will need hot water. Having poured boiling water into the flask, you need to wait ten minutes, and then take the thermos in your hands. If the case is hot, there is no vacuum. In the end, you should make sure that the product is not an "orphan": the instructions must certainly indicate not only the trademark, but also the country of origin.

At home, pouring, say, hot coffee into a thermos, you cannot immediately close the lid. It is worth waiting for two to three minutes, otherwise excessive pressure will form in the flask, and you will not be able to open the thermos, but only after a few hours.
